Do you believe in the accounts of the Genesis Creation, Noah (the flood) and Jonah (big fish) as found in God's Word? How do we discern for deeper truth here having not been there ourselves?
Today in this post modern culture we have a vast majority of people who believe that the story of Creation (7 day), Noah (and his ark) and Jonah (in the fishes belly) were just stories and allegories, not actual events in human history. This secular culture, false denominational religious systems and government educational organizations have done a VERY good job of convincing most people that God's Word cannot really be trusted or taken literally. Even the accounts of Creation have been defamed and claimed it never happened the way God's Word has said it did.
You can read the Creation account in Genesis 1
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
You can read about the account of Noah and the Ark in Genesis 7
And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;
They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.
And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.
And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the Lord shut him in.
You cab read about Jonah in Jonah 1
And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you.
Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring it to the land; but they could not: for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous against them.
Wherefore they cried unto the Lord, and said, We beseech thee, O Lord, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O Lord, hast done as it pleased thee.
So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging.
Then the men feared the Lord exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the Lord, and made vows.
Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
I wont go into it here but I will state that there is much evidence that supports the account of a young earth and the global flood as found in the results of it left behind on earth. (No physical evidence for Jonah would be left behind) While some have attempted to look at the stars, rocks, fossils or search for the actual ark, I would like to propose there is a much simpler way to prove that both of these man lived and were real indeed. The answer is found (as in all other situations) in God's Word.
There is only ONE person in the scope of human history that changed the entire world and left His mark upon it forever. That would be the person of Jesus Christ. Even our year (2014) is marking the time in which He lived and then died. No scholar or scientist of any merit will or can dispute that at all and still be taken serious in his field.
Even in our lost culture not many would argue that Jesus Christ wasn't a real person and many will in fact say "He was who He said He was (God Himself) even though they are not serving Him today." Keep in mind not one expert who is an enemy or unbeliever of the Christian faith has EVER been able to prove that the accounts of Jesus from God's Word are false. So why am I telling you about Jesus Christ? It is His testimony that I will draw upon. Based on these facts (Jesus was indeed God and His Word is true) let us see if we can use His own words to validate Creation, Noah and Jonah.
When it comes to the Creation story we read about in Genesis, many who cling to the lie of evolution have attempted to say it didn't happen that way and that Adam and Eve were just a story, not real created beings. What does Jesus tell us about this?

Matthew 19:4
And He answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female.
In this area of the bible the context is Jesus speaking of marriage and He sets the record straight about how it was from the beginning. (Just as Genesis records it for us.)
Was Christ deceived about mans origins?
Was Christ deceived about mans origins?
In a side note the Apostle Paul also references the Creation in 1 Cor 11:9
Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
Regarding the account of Noah (a righteous man who found favor with God and was spared from the flood in the Ark) in Matthew 24:37 we have Jesus Christ making reference to the man Noah and the flood saying this:
But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Was Jesus telling a lie?
In a side note here; we see both Paul and Peter referencing Noah as well:
Hebrews 11:7

In a side note here; we see both Paul and Peter referencing Noah as well:
Hebrews 11:7
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
1 Peter 3:20
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
Finally, the account of Jonah (swallowed by a fish) that has been claimed by many as nothing more than a "fairy tale" is spoken of by Jesus Christ Himself. It is really an interesting archetype of the Old Testament (see our link on archetypes HERE) an example pointing to the Savior to come.
Jesus said in Matthew 12:38
He answered, "Wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the huge fish, so the son of man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Does it sound like to you Jesus Christ believed Jonah was in a fishes belly for three days?
Does it sound like to you Jesus Christ believed Jonah was in a fishes belly for three days?
In these verses you have all three of these accounts (that are referencing these ancient events) confirmed by Jesus Christ Himself! This creates a HUGE problem for those who want to write off some of God's Word as just myth and not complete truth.
Can we trust the Word of God?
Jesus said we live by every word out of the mouth of God. Matthew 4;4

And the Word also tells us:
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Tim 3:16
Stating those truths; I propose to you that Jesus Christ has validated and confirmed these events as real and accurate, not to be discounted or defamed as not true. What say you?
You may have heard it said before but I will state it again here. When deciding about Jesus Christ and who He is; you have only three choices really:

Is He a lunatic?
Or is He the Lord?
let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written

We say He is the Lord, He is the Truth and everyone must come through Him for eternal life to come (John 14:6) or face judgment! We tell you here that you can believe on Him and His Word as eternal truth.
What will you do with Him and His truth today?
