Biblical discernment is vital to the growth of a believer and sadly many are being led astray by easy believism from the seeker sensitive movement. (See an article HERE about it.)
Here is a card that we received and have discerned through God’s Word.
What scripture verses are being violated here?
The card says that 'Jesus died so we may once again see our Creator.'
God's Word says: Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification (Romans 4:25)
The card says 'God wants you back'.
God's Word says I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish (Luke 13:3)
The card says you will never be perfect.....
God's Word says: Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48)
The card says He loves you just as you are.
God's Word says: If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. (2 Timothy 2:21)
The card says 'this is why Christ died for you'.
God's Word says: For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit (1 Peter 3:18)
The card says 'come back to Him won't you?'
God's Word says: 'Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.” (James 4:8)
The card says 'He's waiting, all you have to do is ask Him in your heart.'
God's Word says: Repent (Luke 13:3) be born from above (John 3:3) become a new creation (2 Corinthians 5) and follow Him in obedience (Hebrews 5:9)
Do you see how very important it is to have biblical discernment? The card is a watered down loving version that satan uses. God's Word lovingly cuts through to the truth....
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
Jesus warns us not to be deceived in Matthew 10, that is a command from our Savior!
