Disciples..... what are they and how are they made?
This is not a common subject that you hear taught about today but we thought we would offer this up to the body of Christ and those desiring to learn more of God's Word.

What is a disciple of Christ?
Is it church building attendance, membership, trying to be good or just believing? We will attempt to answer that in this article.
Jesus Christ is well known for the command to go and preach the gospel:
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mark 16:15
Gospel means good news of what Christ and what the kingdom of God is all about.
Many people in man made religious places are quick to rush off and preach "their version of the gospel" and we often find it is a watered down and easy believe system making it easy for people to enter their pews but it creates mostly false converts in the end. Jesus told us the way to eternal life was NARROW ( see Matthew 7 ) so it is important that you grasp the biblical gospel to find eternal life to then become His disicple.

Once you understand the biblical gospel you must obey what Jesus also told us to do in His name. Often people will miss or totally ignore His other command to make disciples or to teach His ways.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Matthew 28:19
In the King James it says teach all nations while other versions say make disciples.
So just what is a disciple or what does it mean to teach all nations?
It also means:
intransitively, to become a pupil; transitively, to disciple, i.e. enrol as scholar:—be disciple, instruct, teach.
In short; to make disciples or to teach all nations really means to instruct them and for them to become a pupil student. Or one may say: an obedient follower of Christ.
His people follow Him and His ways.... makes sense right?
How are unbiblical disciples made?
We see that we really have two major problems in the claimed Christian religious culture today.
1 ) As we said before; religious systems often preach a false gospel as we showed you which makes false converts. (Paul says that means they are accursed in Galatians 1)
2) Then the biblical discipleship/teaching (every word) is not taught in man made religion in full, for the most part.
Why you may ask is this the case today?
People are told to ACCEPT Jesus (not found in the bible) and then they slip into the mold of Sunday ritual religion which they claim is disciple making but they never teach or OBEY ALL or exactly what this scripture is teaching them to do for His New Testament body. All the while they stay worldly and unbiblical in so many ways. They go on to obey their own man made systems of rules and religion (denominationalism) still leaving them worldly, carnal and religious but they do not obey ALL of God's Word as His true disciples.
This matters as the very next verse of chapter 28 in Matthew is this:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Jesus also said this:
If you love me keep my commands
John 14:15
In verse 23 of John 14 he says this:
“Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching
If you read Matt 4:4 Jesus says this
we live by every word out of the mouth of God.
This would no doubt include ALL of the New Testament writings where we are taught how to live out the NT body that Christ ordained thru Paul and the other apostles. In fact, Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 11 that we are to "imitate him as he imitates Christ".
So why are people mostly all imitating the false traditions of men today? (see the reformation and modern evangelicalism today)
In 2 Thessalonians 3:4 Paul said to hold to the traditions he has handed down:
And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.
Again, why then do people keep man's pagan traditions like Christmas, easter and have one man hired to lord over them as a modern pastors and so many others false ways?
Answer...they are following mans ways, not God's.
In truth we are commanded to hold to all of the teachings of Christ as well as the epistles for the NT body. Sadly, man made religion has truncated (left out/changed) many of the important instructions/doctrines we are to keep and follow as His people. This allows them to fill up buildings with goats (those not born of God) and that supports their entire bloated false building centered / worldly ways. It is NOT the ekklesia / body that Christ called His people out to.

We hope you can now see the major problem here. The religious Christian world today is not only changing the gospel but they are teaching "man made traditions", ungodliness, carnality, immodesty, pagan ways, emotion pleasing, ritual false ways and NOT the full Word of God that Jesus said His people will hear and obey. This is NOT making biblical disciples of Christ in anyway but it is making...disciples of men and false religious systems.
(the Pharisees did this in Jesus day and He exposed them over it. See Matt 23)
So how can you or they that follow man made religion be His people at all? In truth, they are not His people per the Word of God. That is why biblical disciple making is so VERY key if we are to know, serve and honor God.
Jesus said this as well which is very telling.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
What did Jesus think of teaching man made ways over the making of disciples/teaching biblically the full Word of God? Read Mark 7:6-9 and it will be clear!
In closing; the whole point of this biblical "what is a disciple" article is really this:
* We are to OBEY the biblical gospel to find eternal life and become His people.
*We are to then OBEY all of His ways and commands given from Him and thru His Apostles for the NT body
*We are to teach/disciple those who are born of Him in the full Word of God to holiness and reject man made religion as false and full of sin/error.
Only in this are true disciples made (men/women taught) that honor God and please Him via faith in Christ. To compromise this (which is sin) and do things a different way, mans way or your own way; you will sin and thus be cut off from eternal life. It is the rotten fruit that you are NOT of Him at all and know this; without Christ there is death!
If you recall this scripture from John 15 Jesus said:
I am the vine, ye are the branches:
Since when does a branch go off and do its own thing without the vine; and live? (see man made denominationalism) It does simply not. If the branch leaves the vine, it will die! That is what man made religious systems have done as they have gone their own way in MANY areas of doctrine (that means instructions) and in doing so they are NOT making biblical disciples of Christ at all.
Proverbs 14:12 says this:
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
The modern religious systems of men mean death, not life!
The Apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians 4 that the purpose of the NT body is for the training up of the saints for ministry.
Ask yourself why then is denominational religion set on entertaining, being liked by the world and pleasing men in their pews? Look around you and be honest. Please see how man made religion is really about keeping their own false traditions, filling up buildings with itchy eared false carnal converts so they can build bigger buildings and entertain them........ and get more carnal false converts.
(it is sinful)
God is NOT honored in this and biblical disciples are not made that way! If you love God and His Holy Word run from those false places, repent and seek His true NT body.
Need I remind you that Jesus said to be in truth not error.

John 10:27
If you are His today/born of Him, you hear Him and keep His ways by rejecting man's false ways. (see Colossians 2:8) This is not complicated but it is VERY important! To keep false man made ways means, you're not following Jesus as His disciples the way He commanded. It is evidence your not born of Him at all.
Paul warned about "another Jesus" being taught and we see that all over this nation of America today and the world. A false Jesus who just loves people, over looks sin, does not care if your obedient and who will never judge anyone who just believes in Him. This is a lie!
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
2 Corinthians 11:4

2 Thessalonians 1:8 is a terrible warning if you believe in this false Jesus of man made religion today so you best take heed:
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
