What you are looking at is the onside of our 6 x 12 cargo camper as we prepare it for our 2017 mission trip out west to spread the good news of the gospel. ( it will have windows, a bed, small bathroom and a kitchen counter in it soon ) As we stripped it out / painted it to brighten it up and get it ready for our trip; it got us to thinking about stripping down ourselves.
As we leave a home base and ....go on the road.... out for the Lord's truth; we have had to change, alter, deny your flesh and sacrifice much. We do not say this to lift us up, no. We say it top lift up Christ as it is Him and His spirit that calls us to it. We would NEVER do what we are doing without Him as our strength, truth and guide! We do realize not everyone can do what we do and that is just fine. Some people have small children to raise, some have health issues or others do not have the resources to travel as we do ( supporting ourselves as we go via our business ) but we have noticed a wonderful side affect of this stripping down. We are removing the things of this world that are excess and extra beyond bare needs. As we have done that we see the Lord moving in us, strengthening our faith and focusing us on Him and His eternal things; not this earth.
God's Word speaks much about this process in many different ways. Perhaps our favorite verse is this:
Col 3:2
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Sadly many people who claim Jesus are just conforming to this worlds ways in their daily life and they are not set on God's truth.
Romans 12:2 says this:
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
People will often say they can live in and of the world and serve God too! Often it is about material things and money. But in that they sadly call Jesus a liar as He said this in Matt 6:24
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
If you claim to be born of Him... your life is to be ALL about serving Him.
John said it best in John 3:30
He must increase, but I must decrease.
Perhaps Romans 12:1 sums up best what we have been seeing regarding stripping down and experiencing in Christ:
We .....go.... on this 2017 mission trip to preach the good news and wake up those caught in man made error /sin. We are always are here and so is our website 24-7 to help you into God's truth and out of man made false religion. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
That is our goal at dontperish.com to serve Him fully.
Jesus also said to deny yourself to serve Him
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
That is all about stripping yourself down amen???
Do not be deceived as this world and is all about "adding things" to your life (entertainment, pleasure, material things media, music, etc ) that distract you from God's truth when we are to be stripping ourselves down!
Sadly we see a dangerous trend all around us in America. Man made religion ( denoninational/evangelical ) teaching people a watered down/unbiblical gospel and a Sunday building centered ritual faith playing to itchy eared people in pews that causes them to be about "some the things of God" on a part time basis. They do so called "worship services on Sunday" but go back into the world the rest of the week. See this article on building centered faith being NOT biblical:

This is the two masters Jesus spoke of is it not? Is that really stripping yourself down for God or is it being religious but double minded?
James 1:8 speaks of this double minded person and it is not a good thing:
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Consider these truths and examine yourself to see if your truly in the faith. see 2 cor 13:5
