Free Grace Theology Refuted

There is a theological mindset out there being taught in man made evangelical religion called "free grace". It is one that rightly teaches the grace of God, but it is in error as it ignores the importance of works as FRUIT that a person is born of God. It also ignores obedience and holiness that is taught all over the scriptures for God's true people.
Note: We want to be clear we do NOT teach a works based salvation! It is by faith we gain eternal life. ( But works and holiness do play a part in that it is the sign of a true born again child of God.)
This false gospel of free grace is a dangerous message to spread to the lost and we must speak out against it. These statements were taken from a theological seminary and here is a sample of what they teach:

"No act of obedience (other than faith in Christ), whether preceding or following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, such as commitment or willingness to obey, sorrow for sin, turning from sin, baptism, or submission to the Lordship of Christ, may be added to, or considered a part of, faith as a condition for receiving eternal salvation. The saving transaction between God and the sinner consists simply of the giving and receiving of a free gift that is without cost to the believer"Assurance.
One's assurance of eternal salvation comes through faith in the promise God makes in His Word that everyone who trusts in Jesus Christ possesses eternal life. Good works, which can and should follow regeneration, are not necessary to a firm assurance of eternal life"
And it gets worse as they say this:

The Freeness of God's Grace
"We hold fast to free grace--the view that God saves mankind by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. No works before, during, or after the moment of initial faith in Christ contribute anything to the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life that one receives through faith in Jesus Christ. The absence of good works during or after the moment of faith subtracts nothing from one's eternal position in Christ. However, good works determine whether one will receive eternal rewards".
This is most interesting and sad.  It is a very dangerous ill way as well! What they are doing is focusing on the grace of God and ignoring what God's Word teaches on true salvation and the character and lifestyle of a true saint born on God. They are striving to make it so easy and attractive to gain eternal life to please man that they have changed the gospel and perverted it. Paul in Galatians 1 says that makes it 'accursed'.

Again, we know good works do not give or add to our salvation but the Word of God says clearly in many places that His born again people bear fruit and they OBEY Him.
3 John 11
Matthew 3:8
John 14:15 and many others ....

Simply put it is works that are a marker that you are born of God. Without it your spiritual condition is in grave question.  By this system of man they degrade the power of God to transform a sinner into a holy person striving for good works to honor Him.  If you don't have godly, good works as a testimony of your faith, you're NOT acting as a true child and thus may not have salvation/an inheritance to come as promised in the Word.

Sadly, their gospel is incomplete and lacks repentance and obedience of any kind and this is troubling. It is a easy believe (Antinomianism) type theology.
You will often hear them present the gospel by only saying:
*trust in Christ
*believe in Jesus
*accept the Lord

They are void of teaching biblical repentance.

Oh they will say repentance is needed and it is only a "changing of the mind" and it is that, but they omit teaching people if your mind really changes to God ( from your own ways) His Word and Spirit WILL move you and your flesh on to good works.

This is a doctrine of dispensationalism and they believe that Paul is OUR Apostle and Jesus words do not applied to us. They are ripping out much of the NT word to form their ill ways. They state you just believe, no matter your lifestyle or sin and you are redeemed.

Many scriptures refute this ill theology.

See James 2 that says 'no works' means a 'dead faith'.

Paul says this:

Romans 8:1--"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Romans 8:13-14--For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

Hebrews 5:9-- "And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him"

Lets us give an example of a failed free grace person:

Per Free grace teachers if you're a drunk or a bank robber you just trust in Jesus and even if you don't give up your sinful life (as fruit you born of Him); congratulations you're still going to heaven per free grace!!

How does this square with Jesus telling the woman go and sin no more?

I guess this also makes Apostle Paul and James both liars  too????

Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
1 Corinthians 6:10

Ye see then how that by works a man is justifiedand not by faith only.
James 2.24

Not to mention Jesus saying the tree bearing no fruit gets tossed into the fire/hell. See Matthew 7

We see it all over America today...these watered down, man made, easy believe gospels that twist God's full truth and deceive people.  It is a common thread with evangelicalism and it is shameful. Following the ways of man NOT God's full word.

Here are many more scriptures that refute the free grace way:

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Hebrews 12:14

Matthew 7
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Ephesians 2
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Titus 3

For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works.
Apostle Paul says this in Romans 6:17-18
But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
We hope this article was a blessing to you in the truth.
Please go, study God's Word and test all that you believe. The fact is all over the bible you will see the clear teaching that a saving faith (that has the hope and promise of eternal life to come) is one that also has good works, holiness and obedience to the One who redeemed us from our sinful state.

To teach otherwise is a lie and a gross misrepresenting God's Holy Word in its fullness.

A biblical gospel includes faith in Christ's Work, repentance, being born again, holiness/obedience as fruit and of course Jesus said; enduring till the end.
