The Attire and Attitude Of A Harlot

As time progresses it seems that women become more perverse in actions, language and their dress. Many people are aware of the proverbs 7 warning to the young man about the strange woman but what they don't realize is that most 'professed christian' women have the attire (and many have the attitude) of a harlot.

And behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.  (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house: now she is without, now in the streets, and lieth await at every corner.) Proverbs 7:10-12  (Underlined words will be explained below.)

We will break this verse down to get the full meaning and see how it correlates to today's women.

The Hebrew word for harlot is: zanah
to commit adultery, cause to commit fornication, wanton, commit whoredom, figuratively to commit idalatry

Subtil is: natsar
to guard, watch over, keep, keep secret, to be kept close

Loud is: hamah
to be in great commotion, rage, warm clamor, tumultuous

Rebellious is: carer
rebellious, back slider, revolting

And abide is: shaken
reside or permanently stay, remain, permanantly stay, continue

This is a woman who dressed with the intent to commit adultery (fornication/whoredom) while keeping her motives secret.  She is a loud and tumultuous woman making a great commotion in rebellion through her actions.  She is not keeping her place in the home.

Most 'professed' christian women would scoff and say they do not fit that description but the evidence is not in their words, but instead in their actions.  While they may not actually commit the physical sexual act as the Proverbs 7 harlot did, the women of today dress and act as she did.  Jesus did say that if you look upon a woman with lust you have committed adultery in your heart, women who dress/act like harlots participate and encourage that.

God's Word is clear on the role of women and we have many articles from dress to adornment, submission to feminism etc, click here to read them:  http://spiritandtruthdiscernment.blogspot.com/search/label/Feminism

As a quick summary, a truly godly woman will clothe herself in long loose dresses with a veil headcovering to cover her head/hair.  She will have a spirit as described in 1 Timothy 2:9-12 and 1 Peter 3:1-6 as being shamefaced, sober,  holy, submissive, chaste, meek and quiet spirit. She will follow the commands of Titus 2:5.
'Keepers at home' means a guard, stayer at home

Instead what do we see today in the modern Christian woman?  A striking resemblence to the Proverbs 7 harlot.  Loud and rebelliously bold women who dress as harlots advertizing themselves in tight and sexually alluring clothing giving the same message that a harlot does! They do not stay at home and instead are out running around in the world (and all over the internet).  They are not submissive to their husbands and are practicising feminism in every way.

Most people driving by downtown Chicago though the prostitution district would say 'I don't dress like that' but is that true?

*The harlot wears sexually revealing tight clothes, so do today's christian woman.
*The harlot clothes that reveal much skin, so do today's christian women.
*The harlot wears makeup and decorate themselves, so do today's christian women.
*The harlot is loud and bold toward men, so are today's christian women.
*The harlot is without shame, so are today's christian women.

Ask yourself, if a harlot is advertizing her body for sex, what is the 'christian' woman of today doing when she looks and acts similar to her?  If a woman did not want to advertize herself sexually she would be dressing in a biblical, shamefaced manner from head to food, revealing nothing but the meek and quiet spirit after the manner of the holy women of old time.

Right?
