*The gospel?
Oftentimes we can't find a gospel at all or at best a incomplete one. The biblical gospel is NOT just believe in Jesus, accept Him in your heart or say a prayer and go to heaven. There is so much more per God's Word.
The bible says His people keep His traditions ( see 2 Thessalonians 2:15 ) not man made ways.

The only way to do that is to test them to God's Word.
These are facts, ways and proclamations of the organizations that put them there so they are the fruit that is manifest from them. This is a fair judge of the character and nature of what they teach and the result of them.
Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

There's much more that can be tested on a religious body rather quickly but if there is that much sin, does a person even need to use any more of God's time to go deeper? Quite often in doing so a true Christ follower must be careful lest they violate 1 Thessalonians 5:22, abstaining from all appearance of evil. (Many of these places contain much evil.)
Believers are warned throughout scripture to not be deceived so don't be.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not and it shall be given unto him. (James 1:5)
Even if you find a religious body that passes those quick tests above, we have resources and we encourage you to continue testing them to the Word of God.
