Time is always moving on and we men must consider that fact!
First, knowing God is of course being born of Him and then as fruit obeying His Word in all our ways. (See the gospel below to make sure you're born of Him.)
Then we are called to OBEY Him and His commands to live a godly life before Him in all our ways. See Hebrews 5:9, 1 Peter 1:15 and John 14:15.
Most men who claim Christ neglect the important aspect of obeying God which is using our time with wisdom.
Redeeming the time..... does God's Word speak on this?
Indeed it does.
James 4:14 tells us that we are a vapor here then gone.
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
We all have the same 24 hours in a day and we also have limited days ahead of us. Are we using them for God?
The book of Ephesians chapter 5 tells us this:
We need to take stock of ourselves men!
What in this American culture has a negative influence on a man's time usage? There are MANY ways time is wasted on ungodly silly sinful things but let me list a few:
Obsessive hobbies, career goals/making more money or position, movies, retirement plans, travel, education, videos games, material things, college and pro sports, money, fitness pursuits, pagan holidays, unredeemed family and friends, man made religion, vacations, entertainment, politics, youth sports and on and on it goes.
Why are we wasting our time on such things that all end vs eternal things of God?
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Psalm 90:12
Apostle Paul says this in 2 Corinthians 4:18:
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Part of redeeming the time is to be about that which is eternal NOT things of this earth and world that will fade away soon.
Are we doing this men for God's glory?
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
1 Peter 4:10
We are called to be good stewards of all things and time is one of them, amen?
Sadly, I meet MANY claimed Christian men who admit they spend much more time on TV, children's sports, pro sports, material things, money and their hobbies then they do on the learning and practice of the Holy Word of God. Much of this blame lands on several reasons:
*Many men are NOT born of God at all when they say they are. Their fruit denies it clearly.
*The religious systems of man made religion that has men false converts, sitting idle in pews on Sunday vs being active as God has called them to do in the body. See 1 Corinthians 14:26
*Feminism has beaten men down ( or they willing yield to it ) and caused them to be not true men of God but emasculated versions of a modern man in America.
Regardless of the reason, God will hold us accountable to Him for our time usage. We men of God are to be about the following things to properly redeem the time for the Lord.
1) Knowing, living out and preaching the biblical gospel
(see the gospel below )
2) We are to be living holy (set apart ) lives not of this carnal world, see Romans 12:1-1 and James 1:27.
3) Leading the home and studying the Word of God to be approved
see 2 Timothy 2 / 1 Corinthians 11
4) Keeping God's NT body, not man's false religious ways
see Mark 7:6-9.
5) Loving our wives / protecting for our families
see Ephesians 5 and 1 Timothy 5
6) Working with our hands to earn a living
see 1 Thessalonians 4
7) Testing all things and examining ourselves to stay in truth
see 1 Thessalonians 5:21 and 2 or 13:5
Those 7 items are a good start to redeeming the time for the Lord
( they are many more we should be striving for as well ).
It has been said:
"idle time fills you up with idols"
There is much to be done in God's service if you are serious and truly born from above.
I will leave you with this verse....
A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.
Proverbs 16:9
Is the Lord guiding how you use your steps and time today men or are you living your days for yourself and your fleshly pursuits of this world? Sadly many are fooled by their flesh and false man made religious ways vs God's full truth?
Redeem the time!!!

The book of Ephesians chapter 5 tells us this:
14Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
That verse speaks for itself. We are to be about wise time management and NOT be wasting what time God has given us on sinful things or pleasing our flesh.
We need to take stock of ourselves men!
