Day 12 / 2018 Summer Mission Trip
Today we were working online when a woman came up to Deb and said 'I like your skirt, where did you get that?" (Deb wears plain, unadorned, loose skirts as the bible commands.) Deb answered her and the woman (standing there with her family) said 'I like to wear long skirts to church, I'm a catholic'.

Deb answered her and the woman (standing there with her family) said 'I like to wear long skirts to church, I'm a catholic'.
We both were able to discuss with her (the husband wasn't saying anything and we weren't sure at this time if he spoke English) the difference between man made religion vs God's word when she said...
"My priest said I need to repent but if I'm going to keep getting tattooes and piercings then it's pointless to repent. God doesn't want that'. We said 'that's right BUT you will not enter the kingdom of heaven unless you do' and then we laid out the gospel.
She said 'Well, I became licensed to marry same sex people because they say it's wrong but I don't care and who am I to judge, I'm not God I can't judge.' We shared with her about judging rightly and that God will not judge our hearts but our deeds.
She then said 'I want my children to make their own choice on what religion they want to choose and not force it down their throats.' At that point she was told that there is only one truth and if you are not in it (God's Word), you will be cast into outter darkness.
Up to this point Debbie was able to share much with her as well until the man spoke up and showed her the back of our gospel card and said 'even pagan holidays'.... Then I encouraged him to see our website and let us know if we can help them.
Note for Christian ladies:
Your outward appearance is a great testimony to the Lord, be sure you are setting the utmost example in your dress, headcovering, manners, attitudes and the love and kindness you exude because the world is scrutinizing your every action and word.
And for Christian women and the topic of witnessing, women must be very careful how much teaching of doctrine they do, especially in the presence of a godly man lest they feminize him and show the world that godly women are feminists and take charge over God's Word. If your husband is a godly man and can witness in the world, you need to take your role and submit under him in this area and over time you both will become united and you will know when it is good to speak into the conversation and when to let it all go to the man.
If your husband is not ready to witness or is an unbeliever you also need to remember your bounds and always refer the woman to your spiritual male headship. We are here for women in that situation and are always offering to help anyone.
