It was not long ago we did an article on mysticism as we knew of people dabbling with it and we saw the culture so caught up in it.

Again, recently it has come up as we were involved with a person who turns out was into the watching of numbers in their daily life and using them to be guided by or to draw closer to God. This was a very strange thing to us and it caused us to look into it and so we must warn you.
Numerology is the belief that there is power/meaning in numbers and combination of numbers. This new age mindset comes into play in many people and they claim there is energy forces that go out through these numbers. There are various means people get introduced into looking for and watching for numbers as guides to their life. ( new age ways, yoga / meditation, tarot cards, witchcraft, good luck beliefs etc ) As our article on mysticism shows NONE of this is of God and He commands we avoid it all as it is sinful.
And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
Lev 20:6
While numerology is bad in itself, the next part that many get involved with is even worse. Through the watching of numbers many in the new age groups believe that spirit guides are the ones showing you signs ( the numbers ) as you go through life and they are aiding you in your level of awareness and spirituality. We have seen first hand how this is very real with people who claim to be Christians as they are merging the bible with these new age occult ways into a sinful lifestyle of deception.
Some signs to watch for our:
* Seeing faces in the sky
* Hearing voices
* Looking for signs like black cats or birds showing up at key times
* Obsession with numbers then looking to bible verses that match
* Being led around to places by these signs/spirits
* Contributing the work of "a spirit" to the Holy Spirit
* Feeling the spirit in or area around them
* Denial they are even dabbling in it
* Obsession with certain foods ( some believe vegetables help their spirits )
Note: I was not aware that numerology was also linked to these spirit guides that many are keeping today to their demise.
WARNING: spirit guides are NOT angels, they are demons!
I won't go deep into this topic as it is dangerous to even dabble there. I will just warn you that MANY people are seemingly being led by these spirit guides via numbers/signs and they are CLAIMING it is the Holy Spirit of God but that is a lie. Satan is mocking / deceiving them with a false holy spirit and teasing them into a deeper relationship with spirits that are not of God! He is the MASTER liar and deceiver.
"God is NOT leading you with numbers and signs, satan is"
Note: the fruit that you are born of God is if you study His Word, obey it with all your heart and you love His people. ( Read the book of 1 John ) If you dabble in the mixing of numerology /spirit guides, you are playing with fire and will get burned!

If we will repent, be made new and cling to Jesus Christ and His Word, the true Holy Spirit with guide us daily and that guiding is by OBEDIENCE to the Word of God. ( not signs and wonders and numbers or feelings )
Beware as God's Word tells us this:
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
1 Peter 5:8
Many today are being devoured by satan via mysticism.
The bible also says this:
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
James 4:7-8
We have seen this is VERY true on our lives and ministry. If you resist the devil and his ways, he will flee and that includes his workers will flee that he sends to try and stumble God's people into such false demonic ways!
Do not fall into satans trap. You must AVOID numerology, spirit guides and any mysticism in your life lest God will judge you in eternal damnation.
