Jezebel Demon Spirit Is A Lie!



There is a theology / belief that has spread all over the land/internet where people are claiming there is a actual demon or spirit named Jezebel that controls and enters people. It is a popular youtube teaching mostly about rich and famous entertainers selling their souls to satan. Since we are to test all things I would ask, is this really true per God's Word or is it just a man made theology? Is there biblical evidence for a actual Jezebel spirit demon?

  Let's explore this shall we?

 First, since God's Word is our source of eternal truth; lets see all the scriptures that speak of Jezebel to see what it reveals to us. 

 1 Kings 16:31
And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.

 1 Kings 18:4, 13 and 19 
For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the Lord, that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)

 Was it not told my lord what I did when Jezebel slew the prophets of the Lord, how I hid an hundred men of the Lord's prophets by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water?

 Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table.

 1 Kings 19:1-2
And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.
2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.

1 Kings 21:5,7,11,14,15, 23 and 25
But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad, that thou eatest no bread?
And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.
And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them.
Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned, and is dead.

And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give thee for money: for Naboth is not alive, but dead.

And of Jezebel also spake the Lord, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.

But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the Lord, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.

2 Kings 9: 7, 10,22,30,36 and 37

And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled.

And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?

And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.


Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the Lord, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:

And the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel.

After we have reviewed these bible verses that reference Jezebel we can say this about her for certain:

1) She was the wife of a evil king
2) She was murderous and served Baal
3) She was into whoredom and witchcraft
and 
4) She was eventually killed and was eaten by dogs (as was foretold)

The truth that we see about her is that she was a evil woman who lived about 3000 years ago ( 850 BC ) but; there is NO evidence that she ever transformed into a demon spirit or that she is alive today via possessing others. This is nothing but a extra biblical teaching that saints should avoid all together! God's Word support no such idea about Jezebel! 

Note: 
We do see a New Testment verse from Jesus that uses the name Jezebel:

Revelation 2;20
Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

All of this in no way proves she is a demon spirit as we know that humans do not become demons after death. ( demons are created but fallen angels following satan )  It is clearly just a reference about another woman ( like Jezebel ) alive in Revelation times that was false teaching/seducing in the New Testament times. 

You can rest assured there is NO Jezebel spirit at work today but people are indeed being deceived by many demons as they are following their lustly flesh to God's wrath to come!  ( See 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 )

This topic is a good example of why we are to study to be approved ( 2 Timothy 2:15 ) and not be led astray by man made false traditions. Because Hollywood is so sexually sinful many claimed bible teachers have gone to this sensationalized theology of a working Jezebel spirit but as we have showed, there is NO bible evidence of it. It gives satan and his demons far too much  standing and credit really!

The truth is satan is real and so are demons but they basically use the lust of our flesh / fallen nature to cause us to fall and sin. I like to say we have a small fire burning inside us due to the flesh. Then satan and his demons come along and just pour gas on it. We are responsible for our sin before God and the bible says if we RESIST the devil he will flee! See James 4:7

 *** What is very true is that our culture has many woman and men living out and acting much like a corrupt sexual murderous pagan Jezebel type person, but there is NO Jezebel spirit at the root of it all. The root is simply mans sin!!!

Good news folks: 
If you are born of God by the gospel ( see the link below ) you can have a new heart and then you CANNOT be possessed but demons can only harrass you. 

While it is exciting and entertaining to watch videos about this so called spirit, Jezebel was just a evil woman who lived long ago. Rest assured she is very dead and has NO affect spiritually on people today but satan and his demons are indeed alive and working so beware! ( I know that satan and his demon activity is real indeed! ) 

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1 Peter 5:8 

 Please reject the false ways and ill teachings of man and cling to God's Holy Word alone for your spiritual truth lest you be deceived.
