No Loitering on the Narrow Road



Jesus said:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Matthew 7:14

 So what is it that His FEW blood bought people are to do on this narrow road? Do they sit down, relax, take it easy, enjoy this life, seek out hobbies and leisure all because... He has done it all for us? No not at all! Sadly that is the false way many will teach you today, but it is NOT of the Fathers Word or ways. 

 The following verses/commands are just a few that tell what we are to be doing while on this narrow path and sitting still is NOT included:

 1) We must.... press on / Philippians 3:14
 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

 2) We must... WALK by faith / 2 Corinthians 5:7
For we walk by faith, not by sight

 3) We must... LEAVE false associations behind, not wait with them / Roman 16:17
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

 4) We must.... RUN the race of faith / Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

 5) We must ....STRIVE on in Christ / Luke 13:24
Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

 6)  We must...not look BACKWARDS / Luke 9:62
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

 7)  We must.... FOLLOW Jesus / Matthew 16:24
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

 8) We must not be.... IDLE / Proverbs 31:27 
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

 9) We must ...COME OUT of the world / Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

 10) We must .....GO preach the gospel / Mark 16:15
 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 

 11) We must FLEE lusts / 2 Timothy 2:22
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

 12) We must.... PURSUE peace / Psalm 34:14
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.


13) We must ....OVERCOME / Revelation 2:7
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

 14) We must ....CRUCIFY the flesh / Galatians 5:24
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

 15) PLUCK OUT what ever causes us to sin / Matthew 5:29
And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

 16 ) We are to STUDY to be approved / 2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

 17) We are to KEEP the traditions of Paul / 2 Thessalonians 2:15 
Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

18) We are to TEST all things / 1 Thessalonians 5:21
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good 

 19) We are to REBUKE those in sin / 1 Timothy 5
Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

 20) We are to LOVE the saints / John 13:34-35
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.


 21) We must be HOLY / 1 Peter 1:15
But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.


 22) We must ENDURE to the end / Matthew 24
 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

 These are but a few "commands" and there are many many more examples/commands of NO loitering on this narrow road in Christ. We are to be diligent, active and pressing on daily for His glory and service!

 Note: We are told we can indeed REST in Christ. 

 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28

But even this rest does not mean we sit idle on the narrow road. No, in fact we are to be DOING so much more like the verses listed above including holding fast, one anothering the saints and girding up our loins in His truth! So why are most who "claim Christ" just sitting around spiritually dead and lethargic? Sadly they are the false fruit of man made religion today and that is why we expose it.   

 If you will repent, study and seek for yourself the verses/instructions in His Word, you will see saints are to get going! If you look for the verses that tell you to sit by, relax and do very little; you simply will NOT find them in God's holy Word. 

 Why? 

 We (who are born of His spirit) are to be walking in Christ and running the faith face and preaching Him in righteousness. That cannot be done if you are sitting around fulfilling your flesh and doing ritual religion weekly! Most American Christians are spiritual sluggards ( products of pew sitting ) with VERY FEW men even knowing or having a ministry in the Lord. 

 How can this be?

 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
2 Timothy 2:4

In love, the truth is most of them are just false converts deceiving themselves and being deceived by modern pastors ( wolfs in a pew) who are void of the truth but are really just tickling ears for a pay weekly check! 

 See 2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

 How are you doing in your narrow road and biblical walk? Are you even on the narrow road/born of God via the gospel or do you keep your own ways or itchy eared made ritual religion? If that is the case; you are NOT on the road to eternal life at all and you must repent today!
