Is Deborah A Good Example for Today?

Many people like to use Deborah from the book of Judges, as an excuse to exercise their feminism of teaching and leading men, but they are not using the entirety of God's Word.

Here is a audio brother Jim did on this topic:

And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord, when Ehud was dead.
And the Lord sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.
And the children of Israel cried unto the Lord: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.
And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedeshnaphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the Lord God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?
And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.
And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.
And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.
Judges 4:1-9

Let's break that down a bit. Verse 1 shows that Israel was doing evil against the Lord.  When Israel was obedient, the laws and ways of God prevailed and in that includes the leadership of men. As we keep reading we see that Barak already knew what was commanded and Deborah reminds him.  Barak pushes back and says he will go if she comes with.  Deborah then rebukes him by saying that it is not all for his honor because the Lord will deliver Sisera into the hands of a woman.

If you read closely, you will see that Deborah reminded Barak what He was supposed to do, thereby putting forth the leadership on Barak but he pushed back.

This situation with Deborah was an unusual situation and was to shame Israel for their disobedience and we know this because it says the victory will be in the hands of a woman.

We see that is not a good thing:

As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
Isaiah 3:12

We know that women ruling is not God's ways because all through the Old Testament we see men as the rulers.  Adam was first created and Eve as a HELPER.  We see the priest system set up with men.  The men are the leaders of the armies.

After we explain that to people they say something to the sort of "Well, that's what's going on today, there are no men to do it so we women have to step up."

Please tell us what parts of our bible we have to rip out to make that statement biblical.  Women are NOT to be in the leadership roles that they are fighting for today.

We can verify that in the New Testament through God's Word. Women are to be silent in the body and not usurp the authority over man.

Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
1 Timothy 2:11-12

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.
1 Corinthians 14:34

Men are to be the leaders.
(Read this article about women pastors being unbiblical: http://spiritandtruthdiscernment.blogspot.com/2014/01/women-pastors-are-unbiblical.html )

If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
Titus 1:6

A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach
1 Timothy 3:2

Anyone using Deborah as an example needs to repent and examine themselves.  In every single case we've come across the person defending it is in much sin and feminism.

Many also have false conversion testimonies of some mystical occurrence with God telling them to do it that shows they are not fully rooted in truth. They are calling God a liar then because God has spoken His Word and sealed it, now they are saying He changed His mind and is going against it by telling them to disobey it. This is rebellion and blasphemy.

Please repent if you are practicing such false ways that really come out of it's root; feminism!
