Answering an Email

We got a email from a person asking some good bible questions and we thought we would answer it here to edify all the saints.

***************************************************

Here is the email in black with my answers in blue :

* I want to ask what is having fear of God?  Lately, I've been feeling this fear and its not fear of worldly things but fear of God, like I've been wanting to change and obey him and do what his word says.

If you are feeling fear of God, this is a very good thing and it is a sign the spirit is convicting you. The bible says the beginning of wisdom is fear of the Lord. (Prov 9:10) We are NOT to live in any fear other than fear of God's wrath. (2 Thess 1:8-9) The bible also says we have NOT been given the spirit of fear (other then fearing God) but of power love and a sound mind. (2 Tim 1:7) The spirit will always lead you to obey as fruit you are born of God. Hebrews 5:9 says He made the way for those who obey Him. You fear God always and strive to obey what he has shown you in the Word. Jesus said if you love Him obey Him. John 14:15

* And that brings up another question, Is it okay to change rapidly like I've been wanting too?

God calls His people to NOT be like the fallen culture and to reject all things that are sinful, false, carnal and worldly. Roman 12;2 / James 4:4 / 1 John 2:15) It is good to leave all sin, even rapidly.

*because I don't feel the need to do worldly things anymore but my parents tell me to not change too quickly because God does everything in order and it's a process to change.

2 Cor 5:17 says he gives us a new heart and mind so it will no longer desire sin and the world the on it once did. Those things may still tempt you or please your flesh at times but you, the NEW creation of God, you do not want them any longer as you once did and your desire to please God is stronger. If your desire is to follow Christ in holiness (1 Peter 1:15)  you should change and leave sin as He shows it to you lest we are NOT obeying Him. We should respect and obey authorities over us "UNLESS" they cause us to sin or to not follow Christ. There are times in a believers life that we must disobey man to obey God first (See Acts 5:29) this is where persecution can come from but all those in Christ will be persecuted for Him. (2 Tim 3:12) God is a God of order (1 Cor 14) but leaving sin or false ways quickly is NOT dis order it is a good thing to do. Jesus said repent (Luke 13:3) that means change your mind and leave your sin.

*And I don't know if it's right, you may correct me if I'm wrong or doing wrong, but I want to help my family get closer to God and his word and understand what his word is saying.

That is a good thing to want to do that but just know FEW will come and follow Jesus ( Matt 7 ) Most times people have to be willing to follow Christ without any family coming with as they will love their sin, the world or man made religion and NOT follow Him via obedience an truth. You must come to God on your own and they must come on their own (John 3 / born again) then you can have fellowship with them in Christ. Unless that happens you must count the cost and be willing to be like Noah, stand alone ( even while living with un-regenerated family ) when everyone else rejected God's truth and warnings.

*They think I'm not okay because I don't want to go to a public school anymore and because I don't want to play sports. I don't know if this is wrong, but this is what I feel is the right thing to do, I only want to obey God's word and not be lied to.

If they are not born of God, they will not see things from a biblical view. (Even if they say the are believers / you must be born again to see truth.) You, most times, will not agree with people of the world / family. They are blinded and will often think truth is foolish. (1 Cor 1:18) While you must obey authorities over you, it will take prayer and bible study for you to decide your course of action. Each case is very different but rest in this. God is fair and merciful. He knows your heart for him and he knows your situation (without full control to decide all things as you would for Him) and that makes you a bond slave (answering to others) for now. Often we must do the best we can in the situation we are in and ask God to give us strength to over come it and change it in time. ( John 16:33 ) The key stay strong in the Word no matter the situation ( 2 Tim 2:15 ) and no one can cause you to sin. Jesus was among sinners to share truth with them but He never sinned. The Lord can make a way for you till your situation changes. be of good cheer, He is with you always ( See Matt 28:20 )   if your are born of Him via the gospel at the link below!

*I also have a question considering one of your posts, about head covering, I do believe we have to do this but is this just for people who are married? or every woman has to wear it, like teenagers and people who aren't married?

God's Word teaches about head covering in 1 Cor 11 and there is NO indication it is only for married women. (There is some dispute about when a female should start covering ) but any young woman should be covering per the Word of God and it is part of her biblical garment, NOT just something to put on in a religious gathering. This can be a very hard thing knowing our wicked immodest culture. But it is a blessing and to be holy ( Ephesians 1:4 )  and it means to be set apart for God.  The truth is head covering does this for a woman in our culture today and God is glorified when she does it.    (See the link on head covering below.)

*Another question is about gatherings, do you guys gather with other believers or no? Because I know you guys don't follow man-made religion but aren't gatherings with others important?

We do reject the denominational false system that man has created on Sundays as it is NOT of God. But we do encourage "biblical gathering" with TRUE set apart saints and that is best done in homes, or outside in small groups for accountability and unity of the faith. (See the article below on building centered faith is unbiblical.)

*These are some of the questions I have, I know they're a lot but I just want to grow stronger in my faith and obey God's word. Thank you for helping me in understanding. I also ask for prayer, that God guides me to the right path.

We are glad we could help you and yes it is good to want to grow up in Christ. Apostle Paul tells us to get off the milk ( simple early faith stuff ) and get into the meat ( study of God's full truth / 1 Cor 3:2 ) That is the ONLY way we will remain in Him and grow up strong to glorify Him and point others to Him. We will pray that you can endure all your trials as a good soldier of Christ and that in time you will be free to make all your own choices for His glory. Hold fast to Him, He is able!

Many people are in situations they cannot fully control. God just asks us to do the best we can
for Him and His Word daily right where we are.
He will give us the strength / grace to over come and endure for
His glory!

God be praised........
