Is Street Preaching the Gospel Effective?



We were out preaching in a busy tourist town and a young woman asked me:

 Is street preaching effective? 

 I thought the answer that I gave her might edify you all so I offer it here. First though, I will explain why street preaching is NOT common today, is it biblical and then I will discuss the TWO out come outcomes from biblical street preaching. 

 While it may be foreign to this current lost corrupt culture, Christ gave us a command to GO and preach the gospel to all. 

  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mark 16

  Jesus, Paul, Peter and the Prophets all used street preaching to proclaim God's Word and truth.

Street preaching was always used by godly men to reach the lost until recent centuries it fell away for a more seeker friendly approach to fill pews. Yes, man made, modern religion has sinfully trained itself to change/soften the message, stay in a building and do rituals, inviting the lost to join them in entertainment (so called worship) vs going out and proclaiming the biblical gospel to the lost in the streets. They have done their own way, watered down the truth and united with the fallen world which is nothing but rebellion against God. 

 There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.
Proverbs 14:12

 Because the world today hates the full truth of God and holiness, leaders have decided to fill buildings up by corrupting the gospel, starting programs, music shows and fleshly atmospheres (coffee bars and kids clubs) to entertain vs doing what the early saints did so well, preach the true gospel. The early saints that Jesus taught, preached the biblical gospel and called men to REPENT unto holiness and obedience. Today the masses would rather hear God loves you no matter what, you can keep sinning and we are all going to heaven one day. These are all lies we expose!

 Now that we see biblical street preaching was once THE method to proclaim God's truth handed down by Jesus Himself, let's discuss the goal of street preaching. That will answer the question I was asked "is it effective?"

 The goal of godly street preaching is to go proclaim the gospel good news of what Jesus Christ has done and to warn our neighbor of his damnation if he ignores that good news.

 Now that we know what the biblical goal of street preaching is, I will answer the question..... is it effective?

 Biblical street preaching is VERY effective and it will have only two out comes:

 1) It will cause people to be convicted, draw close to God, His word / ways leading to repentance and eternal life to come in glorification with Christ

 or

 2) It will be rejected, cause people to stay in their sin and lost state leading to their eternal condemnation. 

 To be clear (and as I told this woman) the goal is NEVER to entertain, make feel comfy, to draw people with their flesh, to include everyone, to be seeker sensitive, make friends, allow men to come holding on to sin or to fill up a building worried about numbers. Oh no, we leave that to the goat farms of man made American churchianity. They have and are training up millions of false converts who will perish in their sins (like the worldly the woman who asked me this question.) 

 When I street preach the biblical gospel and warn people, in love, of their sin / rebellion against God, I know the ONLY two outcomes will be to their glorification with Christ or their damnation in outer darkness and God is glorified either way.  

You decide which it will be.....you with Him or cast in Hell. 

Since Jesus told us FEW will find the eternal path (see Matthew 7)
we never expect many to like or come to the preaching. Remember we are living in the age of the great falling away (2 Tim 3 and 2 Tim 4)  so FEW will hear and come follow Jesus (they like their fake/false worldly jesus more in their man made religious buildings.) 

 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
2 Cor 11:4

 Oh how we rejoice when a few ask good truth questions, some thank us for the preaching and even when they come seek us out to talk of God for hours after I have preached. Those are the sheep we seek, NOT the masses of goats that love their sin and false lukewarm religion. 

 So the answer is YES biblical street preaching is VERY effective and in this wicked sinful world it is separating the millions of goats from the very few sheep of God.  That is why we GO and preach!

 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
Luke 15

 Let me boast in Christ:
We have been honored to be used and be face to face with many tens of thousands of people who have heard the true gospel good news and the wrath that is coming on them; if they neglect obeying it. 

 Oh you can rest assured...... it is EFFECTIVE!!!!!
