Some Simple Tunic Vest Ideas
I try to keep my sin covering (clothing) simple and cheap. The following are examples to help show and encourage you men to properly dress. I bought several 4X pull over shirts for $2 each at a thrift store. Sister debbie cut the arms off and cut it up the front and it is a great vest for cooler days!
Here was a thicker brown pull over and we did the same thing and it is also a vest for cooler weather and it was $5
Note: both those styles sister debbie will later add me some pockets down low out of the sleeve material and several tie straps for windy days.
This one was a simple button up denim shirt for $4 and we cut off the sleeves and left a few buttons on the front to hold it closed on the wind.
I like to have the option to layer to stay warm or cool down. I always have on a short sleeve button up shirt, then I can add a vest, then I can add a thicker long sleeve coat over the top of it all. My next addition will be some hooded sweat shirts modified so I can avoid using a knit hat and just have a hood to pull on and off. I am on a hunt for some plain ones right now.
I hope you see that dressing biblical does not have to be complex, hard or expensive. It just takes knowing what God requires then some effort to track it down and modify it where needed. There is NO uniform in God's family and we will all look different. What matters is we meet the guidelines God laid out and that is plain, loose, long tunic like garments that hide the form. (See Genesis 3:21)
