Russian Invasion of Ukraine and the End Times



Jesus was asked about the last days and He said this in Matt 24:

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

It is Feb 2022 and Russia has just invaded the Ukraine in a act of war that has not been seen in Europe since the 1940's and Hitler. Putin the Russian president says it is to help people in Ukraine but most do not buy it. He is on a power and land grab trying to rebuilt the old Soviet Union. Many are calling it the beginning of World War 3 but I say we shall see?

  While I do study prophecy; I do not often go into it on my online teachings as it is a complex, deep and controversial topic; best discussed and studied within a close body of brethren. Having said that; I thought it important to discuss this event in the light of some potential biblical importance to it.  

Note: what I am about to say is NOT dogmatic theology but some "COULD BE" scenarios that the Word hints at and some are saying will happen. I am NOT saying these points of potential future events or these interpretations are 1oo percent true but only they are possible. While there has been many wars and battles over the years; I think the timing, players and events of this latest war action seem to be perhaps more significant. 

Let me list some thoughts, info and lay out some POSSIBLE items for us to ponder regarding the end times. Again I am not saying this is for sure how it will go down so I encourage you to go study this out and seek truth for yourself. I realize people have always said that we have had lots of wars (like WW2) so it is not big deal this is all happening. Let me show you why this "could be" different today and important regarding prophecy as things are moving more into place today. 

 One of the biggest events that needed to happen in the last days events was the promise that God would reassemble Israel in the land He gave them. (This matters as Jesus will return to Israel a His second coming) God promised to restore Israel in Isa 11:12, Ezek 37:21 & 22 and Amos 9:14 / After 2000 years of being scattered that happened in 1948 

In fact; God's word mentions in Isa 66:8

Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. 9 Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring  forth? saith the Lord: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.

Did you know Israel was born in one day at the United Nations in 1948, how interesting? This means the clock started clicking for the last days events as they say. That was NOT so in the days of  WW2; meaning back then they could NOT say that war was part of the great last days scenario. Today Israel is in the land and it opens the door for many things to happen and play out in God's Holy Word. 

 Next, it has been said / talked about a possible future invasion of Israel mentioned in Daniel 11:40 thru 45 and Ekekiel 38 and 39 / I encourage you to go read those scriptures for yourself. A list of nations in that possible attack on Israel is also given. We will look at those but first; a King of the north is mentioned in Daniel and Ezekiel. If we see a map of today; the only world power north of Israel is in fact Russia.

So Russia fits the enemy from the north today and that is a fact. 

Moving on; Gog and Magog are mentioned in Ezekiel 38 :1 and 2  also mentioned are Meshech and Tubal. (some people have placed Gog and Magog as Russia itself over the years) Magog is the name of Noah's grandson  Gen 10:2 / 1 Chron 1:5 and some ancient writers say he settled in the black and caspian sea area ... places like Afganistan ...the stan countries... Turkenistan / Ubekistan etc Realize that they are most all Islamic today and they HATE Israel. Russia was already in Afganistan making war for decades to control it. Meshach and Tubal are also mentioned and they are grand sons of Noah Gen 10:2 sons of Japeth. It is said by some history writers they settled in Black sea area as well, near Magog. I have heard some men say that Meshach is Moscow and Tubal is Tobolsk but there is not much proof of this. Some history of old says that Mesach and Tubal were part of Scythia in southern Russia (the Meskhiti mountains and Meshki tribes in Georgia) Today it is said that many Georgians/Armenians (the Black see area) claim to be the very descendants of Meshach. Does this all fit the bibles words? 

So you say all very interesting but what does it really mean? I do not know it all myself but; thousands of years ago it seems Prophets of God wrote about enemies of Israel that would assemble to attack the nation. They point to a northern king (only Russia fits that today) and these other nations that would come with them to attack. Fact: Russia is today working to take the very lands and countries that could ....I say could...  fitting the bible predictions I mentioned. (The Black sea area Islamic nations are there as I speak)   

    Back to the invasion of Russia into Ukraine Feb 2022.  

That area of Ukraine (under attack today) is "potentially" not far from all the locations of those groups of people the bible says will come against Israel in the last days. Did you know that Russian armies are already in Georgia since 2014 (that is near those named areas we spoke of from scripture) and they already took Crimea (south Ukraine) in 2008 also near those named areas? Russia is building alliances and is moving south eastward; towards Israel and that is a fact! I also need to mention that those areas/countries are mostly Islamic, they HATE Israel and Russian is willing to arm them for war and it has close ties to another Islamic HATER of Israel and that is Iran. (old Persia) More on that soon....

Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: Ezek 38:2

If you say well maybe that is all just a chance happening. A northern army and those areas he is taking over today that hate Israel. Lets look at the other nations named by God's Word in that future attack on Israel in the last days to see if it matches today's global scene. 

Persia is in the attack Eze 38 and it is modern day Iran. It changed from Persia in 1930s and it is Islamic, fully united with Russia already, they hate Israel and vowed to destroy it.

Ethiopia ...grandson of Noah Gen 10:6... it is the land of sudan / Egypt, it is Islamic, it is aligned with Russia and they are enemies of Israel as well

Libya ...is from Put Noahs grand son Genesis 10: 6 / it is Islamic and untied to Russia

Gomer ...Gen 10:2 and 3 Noahs grand sons ... and some place that in Germany? I say we cant know this for sure but; Germany was the country who hated the Jews in WW2 (this one is more of a unknown to me)

Togarmah ...Noahs grand son Gen 10:3 ... some say there is evidence it is Turkey and they are Islamic and hate Israel? (this too is a unknown but people in the black sea area do claim to be descendants of Togarmah )

Note: Go back and look at that map I posted and see that Israel is still surrounded by these very countries/enemies the bible seems to mention.

So let me summarize in bullet points to pull it all together:

The bible "could be" predicting:

 an attacking army out of the north of Israel, who will be united to the black sea area (Islamic) nations and will also be united to other Israel hating (Islamic nations?) like Iran, Libya, Ethiopia/Egypt and possibly Turkey and they will attack Israel in a alliance in the last days.  

Today I need to tell you that we do have that exact scenario in place:

 all those mostly Islamic nations are in place, hating Israel and we have a northern army Russia moving into what could be the very region the bible said the attack would come from making alliances with them all over 2500 years ago. (the Black / Caspian sea area is the war area today Feb 2022) 

Ask yourself this: What are the chances a guy in the desert (prophet) could guess at what countries 2500 years in the future would exist, be near, align with a northern army, hate and attack Israel? The bible says Israel would be the HOT BED focus area of the world and it is just that way today!   

Again, key things that needed to be in place are seemingly in place if those nations are what I described. (it is all a "could be" scenario as I said) 

Add to it headlines like this:

Russia is an enemy of Israel and I suggest you keep a eye on it all as the last days approach us. Since Russia likes to claim it invades to help people in the land they are invading, they could run to the aid of Palestinians in the future and attack Israel. Lets watch that as it unfolds and this I know; God's Word is true! 


The bible seems clear that before the end times; Israel must be in the land...  she has been since 1948 / Ezek 3:11 says they will be prosperous and they are. Ezek 38:11 says Israel will be peaceful... when they are invaded. Perhaps a peace treaty will be signed before hand, then war comes?

What is the out come of this all you might ask? Those armies appear doomed as God will defend Israel with Ezek 38:18 and 19 and those armies of the north will be defeated. 

And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:

5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:

6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.

7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them. Ezek 38:

I hope this info, scriptures and possible connection to the last days events I have noted edified you and caused you to look into it for yourself? 

Just be careful in it all and let me warn you that we as born again saints are NOT to be:

*caught up in fear or hype or predicting what we cant know for sure

*fearful as we are to trust in God always, he has the future under control 

*caught unaware as we are to be wise as serpents so just knowing world news facts and discerning them is a good thing as it can be used in witnessing and future planning.

*too caught up in the affairs of this life and we must be about our service to God not the ever changing fear mongering news and cares of this life. 

I share here as we are to be looking for the Lords return ut I never want to take you form your call to live life fully for Him and be joyous and hopefully for the future to come!

Strive on saints of God and most of all; seek the kingdom, live by the gospel and obey His Word.... till he comes for us no matter the cost.
