Having bought some land last year in the central part of the US (Missouri) near a large tourist lake …we have been made much more aware of a very common but sad practice called Christian Youth camps. They seem to be all over a area somewhat near where we bought our land.
That being said we were always aware of them but now we see that it seems religious bodies have made it a HUGE annual practice to build and use these camps on lakes or in the woods and they need to be tested biblically . They draw young people that claim Jesus Christ for many activities that are not in line with God’s Word as we will show you.
So Why This Article on Christian Youth Camps?
We were in town one day doing ministry work in a public place and a large crowd of youth, with a few adults rolled into town. We could not help but see and hear the lack of adult supervision involved. Once I witnessed to the false modern pastor leading the Assembly of God group (see that link testing him HERE) I knew we had to post an article that tested and exposes this practice of the religious world; the so called churches of Christ. As in most all cases they have left the truth and holiness of God's Way to cater to carnal and worldly tastes. Please read on and we will give you examples of this:
After much thought; we could come up with dozens of reason why these Christian Youth Camps ( CYC’s ) are unbiblical and spiritually dangerous. Lets focus on 5 reasons for this article (contact us if you want to go deeper into this subject.)
1) CYC’s are most often connected to religious bodies that are very UNBIBLICAL in many ways. Most terrible is the common alter call like way they tell youth come up and “they have eternal life’ when in fact it is a lie and creates MANY young false converts. These places are the Sunday ritual religion / often denominational places of many compromised ways that have left the full truth of God’s Word and His New testament body. As proof we offer our 10 point biblical test that theologically tests/exposes those who build and sponsor these religious camps as unbiblical.

Sadly they are teaching these youth MANY false ways not true biblical Christianity. Per the Word; they are to be rejected not embraced. See Romans 16:17
2) These places feed the flesh of the young camp goers when God’s Word says we can't please Him that way at all and should walk in holiness not the flesh. See Romans 8:8. We have tested many and most all of these places seem to offer fleshly worldly things like swimming, zip lines, movies, silly games, competitive sports. Putting youth together in immodest/unbiblical dress via swimming situations or sports is not holy but foolish and carnal. Without such offerings though; it is doubtful thousands of youth would even show up and what does that tell you?
3) The bible says to train up youth to be sober minded. (See Titus 2) These camps sin in doing the exact opposite really. They train up youth to be silly minded and seek entertainment to tease their foolish side/flesh vs killing the flesh and walking in all obedience and holiness. They use emotional fleshly music/events to woo young people into many things that God’s Word teaches against.
4) These CYC’s separate the youth from the parents for often many days at a time. This is sinful as the bible says the parents are to be the ones children look to for spiritual truth. ( See Proverbs 22:6 ) Today modern religion is using youth pastor’s, Sunday school and programs like CYC’s to teach children and they are doing it in a unbiblical fashion.
5) We have seen first hand many times how these CYC’s allow varied aged youth to be close together and be totally unsupervised at times. This allows much sin and corruption to take place. These young children and parents are told… it is good for them to go out and learn how to be around others for socialization purposes. God’s Word says NO such thing and in fact it teaches the Christian home, via the parents, are to shelter and protect them 24-7 not send them out to be exposed into such unbiblical places as CYC’s. ( See 1 peter 1:15 …be holy in all your conduct.)
We could go on about the other unbiblical aspects of CYC’s like: they sell entertainment in God’s name, they bring possible true believers together with the unregenerated carnal yout of the world (unbelievers), they are ecumenical linking to many other false bodies, they break down the male/female modesty and shyness characteristics that God clearly put in humans and they water down the truth of God’s Word via easy believe gospels, lukewarm theology and silly bible stories. God’s true people come out of such things and do not conform to them. See Romans 12:2
When the testing is done using God’s Holy Word we can see these Christian youth camps are the same sad model of man made fleshly ways; trying to seek God their own way but not God’s true holy biblical way!
We need to give you a loving warning here.
Fathers and mothers… you …spend time with your own children and take them to the lake to fish, play a pure game or go on a long hike. There is no sin in that at all. But the truth is you should be teaching them the full truth of God’s Word not others if you claim Jesus. Just make sure you yourself are living it fully first lest you be a hypocrite (see Matt 23) Our website is here for you to do just that for God’s glory!

Note:
If you do not obey ALL of God’s Ways that He ordained for His people, you cannot call yourself in the truth (Jesus) and thus your in a very dangerous place. Repent of these so called Christian youth camps and serve God in all holiness and obedience.
