Do you know what pantheism is?
It is all over the culture today and so if you are interested in spiritual truth and knowing how to NOT be deceived; then you need to understand the lie that is pantheism.
Recently I had a Wyoming man tell me that he believes he is god, a tree is god and all things are god as I witnessed the gospel good news to him. This starting me thinking on this topic and the fact that we need to address this satanic lie on our website so others are not led astray as he is. Pantheism is the age old lie that …all things are god. Nature, the earth, people or anything you can see is itself god. It, by its very nature, denies/demeans a personal God separate from His creation and merges him into the very creation itself. It is a form of idolatry to say the least and the Apostle Paul in Romans 1 talks how man worships the creation NOT the Creator! This is sinful. Keep in mind this is similar but not to be confused with polytheism which believes in many gods. This pantheistic belief system comes from the false religious systems called Buddhism and Hinduism. (they teach reincarnation of the soul)
As a child I remember TV commercials (as Christians we no longer watch television) about a lady acting as a “mother nature figure” and even today we see many people believe in a pagan gaia earth based (or mother earth nature) theology vs trusting in the God of the bible via Jesus Christ. There is no basis at all for this false belief system in the Holy Word of God. Many are confused by a scripture verse in Psalms that says this:
Psalm 139.7-8
Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
To be clear: All this verse is saying is that God is everywhere NOT that He IS in everything. Only those looking to believe in pagan pantheism will come to that conclusion.
To refute the idea of pantheism (god is everything) just simply go to the Old Testament and read about the MANY warnings against idolatry/worshiping anything like a rock, a carved idol, animals or things that are on earth or in heaven. (See Exodus 20) This is condemned by God and called idolatry. If pantheism were true God would allow worship of a rock as … it is god. Clearly the Creator God is above and separate from His amazing creation and He alone is to worshiped and given glory. Jesus Christ came to show us God and to show us how to live and follow His Word in a way that pleases Him. It had NOTHING to do with pantheism or pagan ideas at all. In Jeremiah 10 the warning is to AVOID what the heathen/pagan do if you claim to be His people. This false theology is just a lie that has come from the pagan systems of man's religion to be avoided lest you be led astray into sin and wrath to come.
Colossians 2:8
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
The reason we are writing to warn you about this subject is because it has very deep roots in the culture, religion and many are trying to pass it off as truth. Did you know some of the fastest growing religions in the world are earth based and using pagan gaia/pantheism ways? Did you know it is also being pasted off into so called Christianity? You can see it in the movies offered, child’s cartoons, talk shows, books written, the political ideals and even in the education system today. (That is why we reject and no longer view any of that material at all.)
The idea we can skip over obeying the Creator God’s truth and somehow find our own truth and an eternal hope in lifting up the creation as god, is a lie to be exposed and rejected. We love how the book of John chapter 1 tells us Jesus is the Creator of the world. Go there and read about Him won't you. In John 14:6 Jesus said this:
I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me!
(that alone destroys pantheism!)
If you are in Christ do not allow anyone to steer you towards this pagan false way called pantheism. Cling to the bible and its truth. If you are still searching for eternal truth we encourage you to look to Jesus Christ, read His Words and see that He is God and the light of the world. He alone is worthy to be worshiped as God. As I told the man who professed pantheism as truth and himself as god; buddha is dead/in the grave but Christ has risen and defeated death. Until you can go and prove Jesus is a liar and the bible is in error, I am obeying His Eternal Word over that of a dead man Chinese prophet and you sir who will die and perish unless you repent and are born in Christ. Pantheism is a lie right from satan. (He desired to be God himself didn't he?) It tells you that you are god and in that it deceives the masses.
Do not be one of them!
