In
the fall of 2016 we went on a cross country 5195 mile mission trip
from Wisconsin to Nebraska, Colorado, Washington, Idaho then to
Montana and Wyoming then on finally to the Dakotas. We went to both work our business,and encourage some house church believers and since it was on the way we
camped out at and drove thru some awesome parts of Gods creation like
Yellowstone, the Badlands and the Teton mountains.
As we passed thru and stopped at many breath taking scenic areas; we saw MANY people there enjoying the rugged beauty as well.
While we were so happy and thankful to see all the sites we did the trip made us VERY sad in another way. We gave God much glory on that trip thanking Him for His creation and His Word, but we saw hundreds of people indeed going crazy over the beauty of Gods creation but we know due to our witnessing experiences; so few of them (if any) will give God true glory for is creation or serving Him in spirit and truth with their entire being per His Holy Word, the bible. Most today believe in evolution and have lifted up themselves, mankind, false religion and science as their god today. They do not give the true Creator the glory that is His alone! While it did not steal our joy; we were sad at times thinking of God's glory being stolen and the fate of those who do such things in the nation and the world today.
This scripture verse kept running thru our minds over and over:
Romans 1
For
I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:
for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that
believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For
therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as
it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18 For
the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all
ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in
unrighteousness;
20 For
the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are
clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his
eternal power and Godhead; so that they
are without excuse:
21 Because
that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God,
neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations,
and their foolish heart was darkened.
23 And
changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to
corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping
things.
24 Wherefore God
also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own
hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who
changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the
creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For
this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even
their women did change the natural use into that which is against
nature:
27 And
likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned
in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which
is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their
error which was meet.
28 And
even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God
gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not
convenient;
29 Being
filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness,
covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit,
malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters,
haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things,
disobedient to parents,
32 Who
knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things
are worthy of death,
not only do the same, but
have pleasure in them that do them.
Let us explain point by point ... why this scripture was running in our minds our entire trip bringing us at times heartache and concern in the midst of our greatly enjoying God's creation. (We have underlined some of the key areas of this text that we will discuss briefly.)
1) As believers we are NOT ashamed of the Lord's truth and we obey Him, we live it and we share it with all we can via our witnessing/tracts. We even proclaim it on things like our business, the internet (dontperish.com), our homestead blogs, our business and our vehicles too. It is RARE when ANYONE ever truly desires to talk about His truth or His glory and that is a sad statement about the spiritual state of this post Christian nation we live in today. People have much time to do all kinds of entertainment type things but NOT much time to acknowledge the truth of God.
2) People today are NOT very aware of or even at all focused on the wrath of God. Most are either set on their own made up ways or they are religious and have bought into the idea that God is ALL love and so they do not fear Him in how they live. This is a HUGE mistake as His wrath will come in time.
3) We, and all those people soaked up Gods creation, have NO excuse for doubting the Creator and NOT seeking His ways in our life. His creation is the proof anyone needs to see there is a Creator God!
4) We saw this over and over blatant disregard for God's mighty ways. When you consider the state this nation and world is in through mans wickedness; it is NOT hard to see that God is handing most people over to the darkness / folly of their own sinful ways.
5) It is also easy to see that because they choose to deny the Creator/His truth; He gave them up to the lusts they desire and they become worse then before.
6) Changing the truth of God into a lie! This is what this culture and man made religion does as they seek their own way and toss out His commands. America is flush with this worshiping the creation not the Creator with the growing green groups, earth loving and the pagan New Age groups. They focus on man and creation; NOT God and this grows more and more across the globe each day.
7) The results of this fallen human way is women turning to feminism and lesbianism and that is rampant and being ACCEPTED all over the nation/globe today. (We saw this on our trip...)
8) Because of God turning them over to their sinful desires we see much sin. Then men turn to men burning for each other (sodomites) and that too is rampant in this land and the world. (We also saw this on our trip.) Same sex marriage is now a reality in this so called Christian land but God won't be mocked!
9) Again it says God is handing them over ... that is a sad and scary thing to even consider. Once that happens hell awaits those lost souls as justice will be served when they ignore the Creator God/Jesus Christ!
10) We can see that this land and its people are filled with MANY kinds of sin and it seems to grow with each passing year, if that is even possible? Evil/sin has become mainstream and fun to the masses.
11) Finally... it says that they take pleasure in doing those sins! Look around and see the culture in America how it takes great pleasure in its carnality and sinfulness often doing it for entertainment via movies, sports and such. As they do this; they ignore God and His Holy ways to their own demise.
Also many people will claim it is being in Gods creation that makes them feel close to God or appreciate God more. While His creation is awesome... BE CAREFUL!!! God tells us we show love and desire for Him not by embracing trees or flowers He made: but by OBEYING Him. see Hebrews 5:9
Many use His creation or "getting close to God" as a entertainment as they daily stay in the sins that God hates. That is really more of a NEW AGE mindset ( getting close to God via nature) and ultimately it is hypocrisy is it not?
We all must repent of that to please God.
On that long trip our eyes were really opened as we saw all of these things in play and it was a wake up call to our Christian lives. Redeem the time for the days are evil (Ephesians 5) is another verse that rings in us now and that is why we are set to preach and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ even more before He returns to judge the world ( 2 Thessalonians 1:8)
*Do you know, obey and serve the Creator today?
*Do
you give Him glory due to Him?
*Are
you in His truth?
Or
are you worshiping the creation via your ignorance, sin, rebellion
and man made false ways that only anger this Mighty God?
Because of that His wrath will come!
