Baptism for Salvation is NOT Biblical

We ran across a man who is from the Church of Christ and he was telling us that H20 baptism is REQUIRED for regeneration and salvation. We know  that is a lie per God's Word so we wanted to post this brief article to show 14 reasons why his faith is in error, sin and heresy really.

The key is does water "regenerate" you?

1) Church of Christ "Baptism for salvation" is was taught in the 1800's as doctrine when the Church of Christ was founded. It is a system of works /ritual belief made of men, NOT God.
(some Lutherans and roman catholics also teach this heresy)

See this link where we expose the Church of Christ as a sinful unbiblical group and their many hypocrisies:

https://www.dontperish.com/false-teachers-videos--testings/crossville-church-of-christ-exposed

2) Question: Jesus never baptized anyone so how could He have saved anyone if H20 water was required for salvation?

3)  Paul never mentions baptism in the gospel he speaks of often that saves men. Why? 1 Corinthians 15 and 1 Corinthians 1:14-17

4)  Paul states that justification/new life was always by faith not by works, like baptism. See Romans 4 1-5

5) Paul states that circumcision (like H20 baptism) is nothing for salvation. See 1 Corinthians 7:19 / Col 2 :11-12

6) In Acts 10:44-48  Cornelius and many others had the holy spirit/salvation before H20 baptism, proving it is not required for salvation.

7) The thief on the cross went to heaven via Christ's blood covenant without H20 baptism. He died... AFTER .... Christ thus was in the NEW covenant. See Hebrews 9:14-17

8) Paul states Abraham was justified by God via faith BEFORE he was ever circumcised.
See Romans 4

9) Church of Christ denies the bread and wine is the literal blood and body of Christ (which is correct) but they then make baptism a magical mystic thing that saves you. This is rank heresy and a accursed gospel Per Gal 1!!

10) Church of Christ / ICOC includes the need for H20 water to gain new life. This negates Christ's finished work and adds material things / works to God's FREE re-generational. 2 Cor 5:17

11) It is mystic as it adds to regeneration "outside" of God's design and no man can add to God's Word See Deut 4 and Rev 22

12) It is works as it adds an act of works regeneration vs works as FRUIT of regeneration. Eph 5:9

13) If water washes us clean then we need to be H20 dipped after each sin. Not not at all. John says we are cleansed by His BLOOD not H20 water at all! 1 John 1:7

14) If this doctrine is true, that you get the Holy Spirit at H20 Baptism, then man controls it all NOT God. How wicked to teach and believe as Father sends the spirit / John 14, not men.

Like many OT things H20 baptism is a symbol but NOT what gives us new life. It does NOT regenerate us but we should do it in obedience to Christ.

Verses they like to use to support their claim is Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

The issue here is Peter then states in Acts 3 repent and be converted and does not even mention baptism. The water is a symbol (not mystic salvation) like the water purification the Jews did with Mikvah's in the OT Word.

They also use 1 Peter 3:21
The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

What this verse means is made clear if we look at verse 20 with it.
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

Peter is saying that by water God floated them to safety and by baptism (the people knew water baptism as a powerful symbol) our faith good conscience via Christ's work) we are saved. It is NOT by H20 water dipping but by faith and Gods spirit we are made new!

Paul in Acts 15 tells us what purifies us.

And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

Interestingly we add this:
Alexander Cambell the COC founder was never re-baptised per their own COC doctrines showing more hypocrisy at play here in man made religion.

I asked the man who told us baptism is required for salvation this:

If a man in a desert came to faith and new life in Christ then died of thirst there days later never being able to be water baptized would he go to hell? He would not answer the question........

More proof this false theology just does not line up to God's Holy Word in full. They are cherry picking verses to make their heretic theology work!

Please know we do believe baptism is the act of an obedient Christ follower made new by God's spirit.

Here is a email answered on this topic:

But to teach it is required to gain eternal life shows a lack of understanding of God's truth found in the holy scriptures. People of the COC / ICOC way are following men and made up traditions/ NOT God's Word alone.

We pray they repent of there sins and come into the full light of God's Word.

Truth matters folks........

Jesus said FEW will find eternal life and he warned MANY religious people will be turned away by Him as they are sinful/law breakers going against His ways to do their own false ways.
See Matthew 7

We pray you are not deceived today so we GO to proclaim truth for God's glory and your eternal soul!

Please see these links that will help you in the truth of God's Word and into eternal life to come.

God be praised
