We had an awesome night camping spot by a field and awoke to a beautiful sunrise. As we had our morning coffee a policeman pulled up and asked us about our chainsaw carving sign on our trailer . We chatted and we told him we were traveling out west from Missouri.
He then said " well you should move to God's Country." ( Montana is called God's Country)
I gave him our business card and showed him the gospel website but he was not interested in that?
This raises 2 great points we had just talked about.
*Why is Montana called God's country ( when there is awesome beauty all over this nation?)
*And just because a place is called God's Country it does not mean the people there want God more than anyone else.
What we are seeing all over this land is people creating a god of their own making and loving it, but
they are not interested in conforming to the Holy God of the bible the One, the Only, the True and Living God. ( Jesus Christ )
Romans 1 tells us that will be so, but we continue to proclaim Him and His truth so people will hear the truth, repent and be made new for His glory.
Later this same day:
I witnessed to a man who told me all about his religious past as a Wesleyan. He admitted that he was turned off by the hypocrisy and lack of love he saw in the people of their pews. He told us how they judged others about sins like smoking and drinking but they were full of sin themselves and they lacked the real love Jesus spoke of in His people.
We encouraged him to not turn away from God due to others sinful actions and to get into God's Word and trust in what it says. We gave him our website and offered him help anytime!
We feel for him and we also know Jesus hated the hypocrisy of others and if you doubt that go read Matthew 23. Those systems that produce such attitudes are the false systems of man not a Holy God or His true people.
Jesus said FEW will find eternal life and he warned MANY religious people will be turned away by Him as they are sinful/law breakers going against His ways to do their own false ways.
