On day 11 we rolled into a gas station in western Nebraska and a tall older gentleman walked up to ask me about my chainsaw carving signs on our cargo camper trailer. We talked about that then he told me they were traveling from Indiana back home to Washington State after a church meeting. I asked him what religious body he was with and he said German Baptists (They are Anabaptist's.)
Thankfully we had our anabaptist tract all ready and I shared it with him. We began to discuss various issues and he was not so happy and did not want to stay long. (His wife came over also.)
I asked him if he realized he was practicing a man made faith that started in the 1600's? He didn't know. I asked him if he had ever tested his ways to God's Word as his man made faith has MANY traditions and ways NOT found in God's Word. He said 'well no he never tested' but he disagreed with me on that. I asked him about false pagan holidays like Christmas and Easter. His wife spoke up and said "they acknowledge them". I asked him if those were biblical holidays or ones made of man? He said "well, of man" but he still disagreed with me. We went on to talk about the biblical gospel that they lack and their ritual man run services also not found in the body that Christ ordained in the first century. His wife spoke up again and asked if we wash people's feet. (That is a ritual they do in their faith system.)
I informed them that Jesus did that as an example of serving each other. Foot washing had a purpose then as people had dirty feet from dusty roads and wearing scandals. Today in America we do not have that issue do we? It was just a example of serving a brother NOT a ritual they have turned it into. See this article about foot washing:

At that point; he said " we have a church and that is what matters". I told him there is one body and we are part of it "not many bodies" per Apostle Paul. He ignored that and he said he disagreed with me on much but he had no biblical correction to offer. He then said he wished he had time to talk but they had to go. After they left and we discussed it, we sadly found this meeting to be hypocritical for the following reasons:
* German Baptists cling to MANY man made ways but NOT to God's Word alone
*Feminism is in their midst as that lady spoke up while her husband was there to talk on spiritual matters.
*The man had time to come ask me about chainsaw carvings but NO time to talk about God's truth
* They did not "wash our feet" by taking time / trying to talk in the Word with us but they will go home and "ritually wash peoples feet" as a dead ritual. ( Jesus warned of this as He dealt with Pharisees.)
*They traveled (drove) 2000 miles and back to go to "man made church meetings" but had no time for us or God's truth on that day.
This is just another sad case of the hypocrisy of man made religion including anabaptist types. They are brain washed into man made ways and they won't see though to God's Word and truth.
We pray German Baptist / anabaptist people will wake up and come out of man made religion and serve Jesus Christ in spirit and truth not vain traditions of man. See John 4:24
