First Baptist Church Sutherland Springs Texas Shooting Thoughts

What a terrible event played out in that Texas religious building with the lost of so many lives. We hurt for all involved and pray God's truth, regeneration and then spiritual comfort to them all.

As these events happen all over and more often, we must realize we are living in evil times. Jesus said it would be so as he stated this:

But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Matt 24

The days of Noah were marked by .... violence!

See Genesis 6:13
And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

That is what we see today so do not expect it to lessen but grow worse per Jesus Christ!

Since God's truth never stops ( even with a vile event like this ) I would like to make some observations/offer some biblical thoughts about this sad situation.

I went out and learned about this body and their modern pastor.
I found myself listening to the sermon by Frank Pomeroy their modern pastor the week before the shooting took place. It has gone viral and to be honest it saddened me. Right from the start you can see warning signs; a Harley motorcycle at the front of the religious building.

I was hoping for a biblically solid message that would include the life saving gospel to go out to all those in the world watching because of the shooting event. No, what I heard was a sermon about how Jesus can help you in the curves of life, if we lean into Him. Much of the sermon was about his Harley and bike riding. What the world saw was your typical man made "improve your life sermon" that CANNOT bring them salvation or the knowledge of the True and Living God. Again I was sad...

This is so common in man made religion but it always saddens me still. There was no preaching of the sin in people that Christ alone can cover if we have faith, repent, are born again and then strive in obedience and holiness as we endure in the faith. It was a typical watered down Baptist offering that misses the mark of God's truth and hope.

In in love offer up to you all the biblical gospel here that lkeds to eternal life:

I then also offer up to you a article on why man made religion in (this case Baptist) is NOT in line with God's Word.

I hope these truths will help others to get on the narrow path of eternal life vs practicing man made ways that do NOT please God.
