It is a strange thing how falsehoods grow and propagate into a culture or into one's beliefs. It is false men and satan at work behind the scenes most of the time. Many people today celebrate the pagan holiday called Christ-mass and we have exposed it as a pagan false roman catholic way in these articles at this link:

There are some people who have awoke to realize how false and sinful Christ-mass is but sadly they are rolling into another false holiday called the Feast of Dedication (some say Festival of lights) Hanukkah? Some are claiming Christians should be keeping Hanukkah but this is not so and I will show why below. Using facts I will explain why even it is not a biblical holiday to be followed by those who desire to please God.
Lets begin:
Hanukkah means dedication.
It is an 8 day festival celebrated in Israel since the about 160 BC.
The celebration is marking a time when some Jews (Maccabees) fought and won back their temple from Syrians and they re dedicated it unto God. It is strange that those who say Christ-mass is false and full of pagan ways and lies (that is true) fall into keeping Hanukkah that also has the same lies and false ways tied to it over time. Nothing of this holiday was ORDAINED by GOD, nothing at all and it has many lies / myths attached to it.
The following are facts about Hanukkah:
*God never ordained it as an official biblical feast/celebration
*The events of it are ONLY recorded in the unbiblical uninspired Apocrypha books (they have many strange unbiblical ways)

*The holiday was originally known as Hanukkah (dedication)
*The Maccabee's killed oppressors with swords in a nasty war
*There was NO light festival in the beginning it was ONLY a re-dedication of the temple back to God (they lit a temple lamp is all)
*It only LATER became called festival of lights ( by historian Josephus ) then myths about it began to be invented by false Talmudist Jewish men (these are occult men).
*Occult Jewish Rabbi's later invented an 8 day miracle oil lamp myth ( one days oil lasting for 8 days but it NEVER happened that way ).
*Occult Jewish Rabbi's invented a 9 candle Menorah (God ordained only a 7 candle menorah.)
*All kinds of unbiblical traditions started over the later years with certain types of foods eaten, lighting candles outside, giving of money gelt / gifts and playing a game that has mystic roots called a dreidle (spinning top with Jewish markings on it)
*Some are trying to say since Jesus said He was the Light of the world in John 8, this festival is biblical / valid but as we said, it was LATER called the festival of lights by unbiblical men and it was never started as such.
(Cheese is eaten to symbolize a lady who fed cheese to an enemy general, laced to make him sleepy, then she cut his head off!!!)
Th entire holiday is built on a LIE of the miracle oil that lasted 8 days but it is all made up by occult Jewish men / false traditions. I thought God's people are to dwell in truth not lies?
Jesus said:
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:32
As you can see Hanukkah, like Christ-mass, is an unbiblical holiday NOT ordained by God and over time (like santa and reindeer) many false ways have crept in/been added to it all that deceive the masses. Again, God's people are to keep truth, NOT lies. See Rev 21:14-15 where lies get you hell.
Some will say 'well Jesus celebrated it so we should also', but hold on, not so fast! In the NT word Hanukkah is only mentioned 1 time in John 10:22
And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter. And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.
Notice how it says Jesus walked in the porch area of the the temple at the time of the feast of dedication. It does not say he was partaking of it at all does it? (Not one shred of historical or bible evidence says He ever kept it nor did his disciples.) Of course Jesus would be near the temple as John 10 shows why. That was His Fathers house and He went there often / always to teach. If you read all of the chapter, it says he disputed with Pharisees then left the temple area. Again, it must also be noted that nowhere in scripture does it ever show the disciples celebrating Hanukkah, not once! Remember this was NOT a feast ordained by God at all and it happened in the 400 year dark period where God was silent. (between the Old and New Testament times)

Please know, even if you want to believe Jesus kept this feast, you need to know that it would have been a celebration in the temple (that is gone) with some prayers and reading of scripture. None of these later added ways/myths would have been done by Jesus. In truth, you cannot even celebrate it today as it was once done and (if you strive to do them). Who gave you the authority to add or change God's Holy feasts anyway?
Note: I also want to say that this re-dedication festival was a celebration of victory in a bloody war / killing of gentile men to push them out and retake the temple. Does this sound like the kind of thing Jesus in His ministry would have supported? Killing your enemies to gain your freedom? We all know Jesus taught the exact opposite in verses like this:
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Matt 5:44
Fact: not one of the Fathers biblical holy feasts revolve around war/killing either so this festival is not like His Holy biblical feast at all.
When all is said and done, you can trade a false pagan holiday like Christ-mass and take up Hanukkah, but it is just doing another vain holiday with added mystic myths and false ways of man that God hates!

I would recommend you reject/repent of them all and just read your bible and serve God daily in spirit and truth obedience / John 4:24.
In love, you do not need to keep doing any of these OT festival ways any more as CHRIST HAS COME and they all just pointed to Him anyway. As Paul said in Hebrews 8:13:
In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
It is utter foolishness to toss out one sinful holiday because it is built on pagan lies to take up another one built on more false ways, myths and lies!
