The following is an email from an evangelical minded man in Australia who was responding to a gospel outreach letter that was sent to him and his family by me and a born again saints there near him.
To set the scene:
*He and his family are pagan Christmas/Easter keepers
*They believe in once saved always saved
*They enjoy the things of the world like carnal sports, movies politics etc
*They do not teach biblical dress or head covering
I thought it would be wise to answer it here, in detail, line by line to edify the saints all over the world.
See his email below then my words in bold with ***** by them as I answer him.

I agree with most of what you have in so much as it agrees with scripture. Especially the fact that you cannot "add Jesus" to your life. We have to give Him our whole life.

Your faith is rooted on the foundational of the Protestant / evangelical ways NOT the first century ordained ways of Christ. Also I offer you that evangelicals are more concerned with just getting to heaven for sure, than with glorifying God while on earth via holiness and obedience. I will prove this as I go on here ....

**** Yes that would be Ephesians 5:9 the fruit of the spirit is goodness, righteousness and truth and Hebrews 5:9 "He made the way of eternal life was for those who obey Him" and Matt 7

If you are NOT losing your life daily in Christ and hated by the world/even by family ( Matt 10 ) you cannot be of Him."

While you have grabbed part of a couple verses here where in scripture does it say specifically that we will be lost if we are not hated?
Scriptures like James 4:4 says to be friend of the world, makes you God's enemy. There are many like this that warn of being like or close to the world will damn you.

While yes it is a consequence of following Jesus that true believers, myself included suffer, no where that I have seen is it a prerequisite to salvation as you have proclaimed.

yes absolutely the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth but what about love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, meekness, faith, goodness, and righteousness as listed in Galatians 5 and Ephesians 5? We have no right to pick one fruit as more important and teach it so.
****Go read our letter as it NEVER says ONLY fruit, it says the fruit. If you study God's Word that loosely, you will be in error and perhaps miss eternal life. Please study and quote correctly as truth matters. Jesus is the truth John 14:6

If you find yourself with a faith that is not manifesting in your life by way of all the fruit of the spirit, trying to do these fruits WILL NOT fix your faith. it will then become dead works that do nothing and risk you resting in dead wood hay and stubble that will be burned up.

I offer that your evangelical faith has a false incomplete easy believe, once saved always saved gospel and so my concern is just what you mentioned. It makes false converts who lack godly fruit and they need repentance / new hearts. That very reason we reached out to you all in love.
If the fruit is not evident in your life, if the tree is not bearing good fruit, you need to go back and look at wether your faith is actually real.

The relationship with come at the return of Christ when He comes for faithful saints that endure are with him face to face. By the way, to refute your once saved always saved ways, Jesus says:
To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne
You do believe Jesus words right? See you must over come as you do not have it yet, per Jesus?
Look wether God is really living inside of you.

**** Again I agree and it is why we reached out to you all. You have ill false fruit of man made evangelical religion. You need to see that your lives, theology and gospel are NOT in line with scripture. Amen, you just having some fruit is meaningless UNLESS you have been born again. I will tell you this; once you are born again you now WANT truth and holiness and will settle for nothing less. 2 Peter 1 said it best:

This is evangelicalism.... blind and off the mark of Christ.
For a long time I lived with this almost correct mindset where I did a lot of Good deeds and street evangelism/mission work overseas because I felt I had to to make God happy or earn His salvation.
***** Here you did err greatly. We cannot ever EARN salvation. You won't ever hear me say such a thing. We gain eternal life by Christ via the gospel ... faith in His perfect work, repenting /turning from sin/false ways, being born again, having the fruit of holiness and obedience and we must endure.
But your comment 'you had to make God happy' is very suspect. It proves my point about evangelicals. See if you were born of God in the heart, you would not feel you HAVE to please God. NO... you would WANT to please him as a new creation and His son. Did you know we are to please God as Holy children.

Your evangelical fruit has a false jesus with a easy believe gospel, pagan holidays, worldliness and a disregard for clothing your body temple biblically as scripture teaches clearly. There is a difference between raising a fault with someone and judging their state of salvation which is only between them and God according to these verses.

You make some good points here, but there is also some dangerous heresy here that is extremely common and easily believed as it is so close to the truth as most incorrect doctrines are.

**** Amen all great verses.... but not one says you get it by being unchanged, living in sin and walking in the ways of man made religion or the carnal world. Those verses speak to true transformed saint who were trained in the whole truth and knew the cost, not a few verses like you seem to cling to. Many verses warn that if you are of those ways he will spew you out. Here is one:

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
(Jesus words also shoot down your easy believe once saved ways, just saying! )
What is being missed here is just how high God's standards are. Our very best is as "filthy rags" to God Isaiah 64:6

Are you aware of all the men in the bible God viewed as righteous? ... Noah/Abraham as a example and in Luke 1:

And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

And you said God does not see our righteousness but Jesus said YES HE DOES. (we do need Jesus perfect righteous for salvation but; if you are not striving to obey and live righteous for God daily, you are not born of His spirit)
There is NO way we can ever be good enough for God.
**** Good enough for salvation, no! Good enough to place our faith in Christ, repent of our sins, be born again, obey in holiness / and endure till the end. Oh yes, that the is goodness He has called us too. Read Matt 22 the great command is t love God with all that you are. You evangelicals DO NOT do it as you allow sin, false religion and the fallen world to overtake you. You are NOT pleasing to the father is this, no you are not.
We can can be righteous and please Him in our obedience.
Have you not read: 1 Sam 15
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
If we could be, then why did Jesus have to die?
**** Jesus came to be the PERFECT Lamb of God to open the way, back to the Father. No man could do that act and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. Heb 9:22 / But having done that the Word is clear, if you trample under foot His blood by sinning on, you will be list and NOT atoned for. Heb 6
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
By the way Heb 6 also goes on to show you that once saved always saved is a lie:
But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. / 15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. (you must endure to the end to gain it)
**** Amen and Jesus fills that for His saints for salvation then He calls us to strive Luke 13 and that is to OBEY Him and His Word/ways. Matt 28:20 He said teaching them to OBEY all he commanded. (you believe Jesus don't you?) But going back to the husband example, so because you can't be PERFECT, you wont even try to be fully faithful to her? Or your son knowing, he can't be perfect so he wont obey most of your rules of the house and you will just over look his MANY transgressions as he does not even try. What foolishness as you make a mockery of a Holy God and His Holy spirit that ENABLES us to obey and live in the spirit, not the flesh.
1 Peter 4
But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
Romans 7 shows us that the law exists to show us just how short of Gods standards we fall. To show us how badly we need Jesus. Paul said in Romans that "in Him dwells no good thing"
**** Sadly you blur truth here again in two ways:
First, you smear the lines or salvation and reasonable service.
Romans 12 / We know man has fallen short for salvation and I preach Jesus in the streets as the ONLY hope. Where your evangelical faith fails you is that you miss that God has redeemed His people via Christ by His spirit for what? To sit defeated, to live worldly, to have sin rule over us and wait for heaven as we live in our fallen flesh? Oh no.... Peter says he redeemed a holy peculiar people for Himself and Paul says we are to be zealous for good works. Titus 2:14
Next, you smear the truth of Romans 7 by only reading part of the Roman letter. Yes Paul says he is fallen carnal flesh man who has the capacity to sin a lot. I am like Paul in that and so are you. The story does NOT end there sir. Read Chapter 8 where Paul teaches we are not hopeless and he gives the remedy. Because of Christ and the spirit we can live in the SPIRIT and we will NOT fulfill the deeds of the flesh. Why are you making my Savior/God so weak that you cannot over come MOST sin and walk in holiness? Romans 8
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. The fact is; I was a fleshly man as an unregenerated evangelical and by your own words/ways/interests, I see you have that fruit as well. It is a downright lie to think we can become truly Holy in this life.
**** Again you have NOT been taught solid biblical truth.
First; God commands we be what you say we can't? Don't you believe God's Word sir? It says all over to BE holy. One example: 1 Thess 5
I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.
And holy for us does NOT mean we are perfect and never fall or sin. Holy is to be set apart for God so we strive because we love and obey God (John 14:15) to walk in purity and obedience. You evangelicals toss away that effort but for those of us who are truly born of God, it is part of our NEW nature to want to obey and be holy. Paul here shares his ongoing struggle with sin. He says that "sin dwells in Him" and that "in Him dwells no good thing". Paul was a entirely committed Christian, yet He still had sin living in him that he was wrestling with.
