There is a quote and mindset that has been floating around for a long time that a Mennonite man just used on me the other day. It says this:
"Preach the Gospel and.... Use Words If You Have To"
It is the idea that you just live a good life and others see it. It is propped up by the likes of religious types of the world, doing many good works but; NOT never preaching truth that Jesus commanded/died for and alone leads to salvation.
This anabaptist man basically said well others can just see I am a Christian. Really and that is how much you love your fellow man as he dies and goes to hell without the gospel good news? (but the anabaptist's love to strive in efforts to take your $$$$ money in business all day long) I asked him if I should warn his family of danger or let them die and he just laughed (how pathetic)
Question:
Why would the world EVER look at men like this in straw hats, immodest unbiblical clothing and lives FULL of false man made pagan traditions (Christmas/Easter) and think they are godly Christian's that have truth and life in them?
God's people in scripture looked NOTHING like the anabaptist's today.
We are indeed called to live a godly life but living a godly life means OBEYING God and thus; didn't He tell us to preach His good news? Read on.....
Some say the quote came from the pagan mystic roman catholic Francis of Assisi and some say it did not. The point is it is a false and unbiblical mindset used so men can have an excuse to sit in spiritual slumber, not preach truth to the lost, not be hated by the world and thus they do not obey the great commission. Let me show you why it is false:
1) the Word of God NEVER has His saints being quiet about truth to eternal life. The Prophets/Apostles lifted up their voices like trumpets. (see the link below for a audio with many verses)
2) Jesus told us to say on roof tops what He said in secret and He sad GO PREACH the gospel to all the world. (see the link below for a audio / verses on lifting up your voice to preach) Christ did not say just live the gospel in silence, no not at all!
3) Apostle Paul risked his life (he ended up being murderer over it) to preach the gospel to the lost and he said this:
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
It is shameful when so called followers of Christ wont even live and preach His gospel to a dying world.
