Generator Box Tip #25

As we traveled to preach, we had this on our van to house our generator and battery.  It was good but I wanted something different and with more space for storage. 




So I started with a simple cargo rack $50..........



I added a plywood deck



                              I framed in walls with wood.



                  I added painted aluminum metal for the sides and top.





Finally, I added tail lights, doors, the trim and supports straps on the sides to hold the weight. ( about 300 lbs total ) 




Here is the inside showing that it houses 2 generators, our back up battery, tools, emergency items and most important... it holds our gospel signs too!

All total it was about $200 to make and that is FAR cheaper then the manufactured ones you can buy. (I actually sold some unused items and used the money to make this.) We are happy with it and look forward to years of use good Lord willing!!!
