There are so many false messages today in the "so called" Christian religious places on just about every corner. Nothing is more devastating to a person's soul then a false gospel message. The Apostle Paul told us this in Galatians 1:
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Notice how he says... twice... if you preach another gospel you are ACCURSED?
This makes the point it is VERY important to have a biblical gospel, after all Christ died and shed His blood for the Truth did He not?
So the question is: Can you spot the false gospel whenever you see it? You must look closely to not be deceived. (By the way did you notice the gospel errors on the picture for this article? See it's misspellings )
God's Word tells us to study to show ourselves approved
(2 Timothy 2:15) and that is how we can spot and expose falsehoods that will affect the truth of a Holy God. You must be in the Word and know how to test, discern and apply all truth for your walk and His glory.
We recently ran across this gospel message for a new religious body trying to start up in Wisconsin Dells, WI called "Berean Baptist". Can you spot the major biblical flaws in their gospel that they have posted on their own website?
"Jesus DIED, was BURIED and RESURRECTED. This is the Gospel according to 1st Corinthians 15:1-4. If you receive the Gospel as payment for your sins, then you are saved immediately, irrevocably and eternally.
Salvation is the simplest thing in the world, but men can make it so complicated. Some people say that faith in Christ is insufficient to save a lost sinner. They claim that a person must depart from their sinful lifestyle and commit their life to live for God. That is a very complicated requirement for a person who's been living in sin their entire life. Old habits are not easily broken".
What is wrong with the above gospel?
Answer:
What is missing and VERY deceptive about this gospel is mainly three things:
1) They say you are eternally/irrevocably saved when God's Word does NOT teach this at all.
Jesus Himself said in Matthew 10:
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
The Apostle Paul said this in 1 Corinthians 15:
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
That is just two verses we can share and the bible has MANY more that teach you must remain in the faith and strive to the end to be saved. It is not about works either but all about holding fast to Christ through faith and obedience till the end. The bible teaches that you can leave or lose salvation in this life so please consider that truth will you. Click here to read about the lie of once saved always saved
2) The second thing that is wrong with their gospel is there is no REPENTENCE.
The Lord and Savior said this in Luke 13:3 Unless you repent you all will perish
Peter told the first believers in Acts 2: repent and be baptized.
Again there many more verses we could share. A gospel without repentance (which is a change of mind/ways about sin) is a false gospel.
3) Their gospel message says it is "complicated" for a person to leave sin. Sadly they are making Christ's narrow road gospel (Matthew 7) into a EASY road gospel when God's Word NEVER makes any excuse for sin.
In fact Jesus Christ said this about avoiding sin in Matthew 5:
And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
The Apostle Paul said this in Romans 6:
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore
we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was
raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also
should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.
True redeemed people in Christ don't continue in a lifestyle of sin. They leave it as new creations in Him.
It is not all that uncommon for religious places to make an easy believe gospel so they can grow their numbers and entice more people into their unbiblical pews. They must be rebuked and then rejected per Romans 16:17.
We hope this exercise in identifying a false gospel has helped you to seek out and recognize when a teaching is true and when it is in great biblical error. Please get into the Holy Word and study it all (in context) so you will be prepared as a fully approved as a worker of the Lord.

Jesus Died for My Sins......Didn't He?
This is a common phrase we often hear when we speak with people about the things of faith or when you look at a religious organization's website. They are often found quoting those verses or the mantra that " Jesus paid for my sins ". What is troublesome though is the fact that those people who often quote this often and not much more; usually are those who have very little fruit of a holy obedient follower of Jesus Christ. They usually are of the world and just admitting they are a sinner saying.... Jesus died for my sins!
We always remind them that the Lords Word NEVER calls His true saints sinners at all.
We can slip into sin but we don't live in it as we have been changed through real faith, repentance, new birth. That is VERY important indeed as religion can't save you only new life in Christ can.
We have realized, based on our research and experience, it is man made denominational religion that has only taught "some" of God's Word and not the full council that is partly to blame here. But we also know man's heart is wicked, he loves his daily sin and most often he wants to have it as well as salvation too. This is a very dangerous place to be and we love people enough to call them out of such falsehoods. God's Word does NOT teach a sinful worldly life as fruit of salvation so consider that will you?
While Christ did indeed go to the cross for mankind's sin; they are leaving out a very important part of what God's Word tells us about His payment and how we genuinely apply it to our lives. Would you make a cake and only use half of the directions or ingredients? Of course not or your cake would be a mess! So it is with God's Word as it must be taken in full and not just in pieces.
One scripture example is John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Many people have their entire faith life hang on this one world famous verse but they fail to read the next few verses of that chapter that has a warning.
verses 19-21
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
The rest of that chapter tells us that if you like to do evil ( sin ) you don't walk in his light and you sin at will, you are of the dark and not of God (light).
Please know.... God's gift of grace and forgiveness is a amazing wonderful thing that we can NEVER earn by ourselves. We don't ever teach a works based faith.
Ephesians 2
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Having said that; please realize that if you have truly been born of God (John 3:3) you have been made a new creation in Him (2 Cor 5:17) and you are fully trusting in Him to cover your sin, as fruit you will NOT desire to willfully sin or go on living in sin as a daily practice at all. If you do that you are deceiving yourself either through man made vain religion ( Mark 7 ) or your own false made up belief system. ( Col 2:8 ) Neither of them will save you in the end and the Word warns about that.
Paul told us in Romans 6
Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
If you're born of Him you won't continue in sin............ Apostle Paul said so!
While the gift of grace is free; it is NOT cheap at all. Living a sinful worldly life while claiming to be in Christ/heaven bound is like being a criminal and expecting to win the citizen of the year award.
It just won't happen and you are very deceived!
Jesus said it would require your entire life to follow Him
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Matt 16
He also said if you love Him ( the most important command ) you are to keep His commands.
( John 14:15 )
There is a popular false view today called antinomianism and it teaches God's grace with no obedience or holiness. You can read some about it CLICK HERE and we pray you are not in that camp.
We care about you and we want you to know that God's Word teaches in many places that obedience and holiness are the TRUE spiritual fruit "if" you are claiming to be in Christ. Let us share just a few verses with you to prove that and you can study it for yourself in more detail:
And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Hebrews 5:9
Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
John 15:14
'I have been crucified with Christ; and its is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God'
Galatians 2:20
no immoral, impure or greedy person has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God Eph. 5:5-7
By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name
Romans 1:5
if you live according to the sinful nature you will die
Rom. 8:13
to reap eternal life and not destruction you must sow to please the Spirit and not the sinful nature
Gal. 6:8,9
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord
Heb 12:14
Be ye perfect as the Father is perfect
Matt 5:48
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
1 Cor 15
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ
2 Thess 1:8
Those are just a few...........
Please consider this and don't take away from God's Word by not following them all. If you only cling to a verse here and there it may allow your sinful flesh to feel good while your soul is on the way to hell. Jesus said we live by every word out of the mouth of God ( Matt 4:4 ) and His Holy Word says holiness and obedience WILL follow in the lives of those who are truly His.
The warning in Matthew 7 is MANY people will say' Lord Lord' and He rejects them as He did not know them. Why? Because they were workers of lawlessness. ( they did not live a obedient life as fruit of a true believer )
Sadly many people today are all about God on Sunday morning ( and even that isn't biblical in most denominational places ) but they are all about their carnal worldly lives the rest of the week. God's New Testament life is NOT designed that way at all. He requires a Holy living sacrifice of us daily.
(see Romans 12:1) Most dabble in sin and the ways of the fallen flesh for fun saying ... we are all just sinners and Jesus died for my sin didn't He! I know I was one of them for years. That is NOT the saving fruit of a person ( Christ's Holy bride ) who has been bought with a blood price at the cross by a Holy Holy Holy God for Himself. In love we must tell you that it is the sign of a false convert!
Are you truly His today? 2 Corinthians 13:5 says to examine yourself to see if you are in the faith.
How are you living today according to your faith profession in Christ?
Has your heart and mind been renewed in Him ( Romans 12:2 ) or are you still carnal and un-regenerated?
Are you following man made religion, your own belief system or ....
the Eternal Word of God that alone can lead to eternal life and not judgment?
A true biblical faith will have you on the path to striving for obedience and holiness to honor your Lord and not saying.......... Jesus died for my sins didn't He?
