Dealing With Festival Managers for Your Preaching Rights

Here is a video where recently I had to deal with a event manager at a festival who tried to run me off and he told me some lies.

He said that:

I cant preach there....

I cant use a small amp.....

I cant stand in one place handing out tracts and preach....

but none of that was true !

Make sure you know the laws and hold to them. If they have a amp law you will need to verify it by asking for the law. Then if it exists; just shut off your amp but preach on. Just know that them trying to tell you at a free open public place event that you cant stand in one place or preach, they are wrong. The Supreme count has ruled that religious expression is NOT loitering and we still have first amendment rights in America, for now! Do not let them tell you because some people do not like the preaching, that you have to stop. I do not like what they are doing but; I do not stop them do I?

Know the laws then stand firm and preach on .....

Street Preaching Wisdom and Suggestions

Street preaching is very rewarding telling of Christ's truth and it can be dangerous as well. As a street preacher, brother Jim knows about persecution when out in the world lifting up Christ.

My street preaching tip link has many pointers for you men seeking to do this work for the Lord. (see that link below) For this article, I wanted to just cover some more basics/reminders but important lessons that I have learned to pass on to you:

1) good shoes always so that if you need to move fast, you are not hindered. Getting out of harms way is always the best route.

2) have a body cam on and have it going always as you preach

3) do not take your personal phone to video. It is good to have a dummy phone for this use in case it is broken or stolen during your preaching time

4) do not go into dark or separated places with few people or low traffic; esp if alone. Evil lurks in the darkness, so be aware of that. Stay in well lit and more traffic areas of people....

5) always be on your guard as wicked men can charge you or attack at anytime. Be aware, do not let down and be alert at all times, be wise as a serpent men.

6) Be ready in your mind and spirit to be physically attacked. Play it all through, what will you do, how will your react etc. (you must be in the spirit and not the flesh though it all) If you preach enough and you preach the gospel truth, attacks will happen eventually!

Street Preachers You Be Steadfast in Mans Law and Word

I was blessed to go and street preach at a busy tourist town in Tennessee. (Pigeon Forge) When I started preaching they told me I was on private property so I gladly moved the the side walk to be lawful. But then; they started to lie and bully me to get rid of me. I made a video to show you preachers how to be steadfast, over come and preach on while still be lawful / peaceful:

Dealing With Security and Police

We preached on a state college campus in Florida and within 5 minutes, the security guards were all over me. This is where you need to have wisdom and knowledge; all you potential street preachers.

They told me I was on private property and I had to leave asap! Because I did my homework; I asked them had they not heard of state law SD4? They said no and so I educated then that any Florida state college is now open to free speech on any sidewalk on campus. They instantly backed off, called their boss and all left me alone the rest of the day. At one time they were only allowing free speech in tiny hidden restricted areas but now; we roamed the entire campus and they cannot stop us, it was awesome!

Men you need to know that Florida, Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Utah, Virginia, Colorado and North Carolina all have such laws so you can preach freely on any state college campus. Go while we have such freedoms as soon they will end it all!

When it comes yo the law; be kind, be respectful but be firm and know the law so you can glorify the Lord. God's word tells us knowledge is power so study the Word to be approved and know the local laws then use it to your advantage.

Long Robes, Preaching on Corners and Lifting Up Your Voice Answered

Street preachers encounter all kinds of challenges out in the world. I just had a man today (while I was out street preaching) try to read scripture and say I should not be on a corner, lifting up my voice or wearing a biblical tunic. He is twisting verses as Jesus said we are to lift up your voice and go into the streets to preach the good news. Do NOT Give Time To Mockers / Street Preaching Tips

We were out shining the light of the gospel and preaching at the Daytona 500 in Florida and I had a mocker/heckler.

Prov 29

Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath. If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.

I wanted to encourage you street preachers, how to handle them.

If you get someone who comes up in a way you can tell by words or body language is not serious about bible truth (by them yelling, seeming aggressive or making comments that show they are an enemy) here is how you handle them:

*do not engage them or even acknowledge them

*move away from them if possible and turn your back

*keep preaching on as they try to heckle

*basically ignore them to the point they give up and leave.

(it is a battle of wills really so be strong)

In my experience about 99% of the time; they walk just away.

*If they persist and follow you, get in your face or are threatening in anyway; remind them they are on video and you do NOT want to talk to them.

*In rare cases; it would help you can give them your email to contact you about any topic as you are here to preach not argue.

* I have in extreme cases turned it all on them as they tried to stop my preaching and I said well go ahead, what do you have to say to us all?

They usually make themselves look really dumb and walk away. Here is a video example of just that from preaching in Cody Wyoming:

*In the worse case; if they are very aggressive; remind them you don't want to talk to them and that they are now following / harassing you.

*If they get really out of control remind them the police may show up soon as strangers will usually call them.

Remember we are to be the ones in control and it is always best to leave a place vs get in any altercations. Strive on and go to preach another day with a blameless testimony I say.
