We were in a restaurant having coffee and using our computers for business and ministry work when I saw a couple come in with big Mormon name buttons on, so I waited till they finished lunch and as they left I approached them.
I asked him if he had ever tested Mormonism? He said he had.
I asked how did you test it?
He said he pays tithes and is blessed and he believes God hears his prayers.
I lovingly told him that is experiencial but NOT biblical testing (that will deceive you.)
He got very nervous as we talked, with his wife and mine looking on. (His face was twitching very bad.)
I gave him some biblical truth about the priesthood being believers now and we do not need there Mormon priests. 1 Peter 4
I told him that God requires truth not man made ways. John 4:24
I asked him if he approves of Smith having 40 wives? He laughed but didn't deny it.
I told him their founder Joseph Smith invented his faith in the late 1800's and was killed ( after Smith shot at other men ) by former members of the faith. Smith had stolen mens wives so they came to kill him. Not a good record for a sol called prophet of God.
I asked him if he will go to a planet one day and make spirit babies? ( Smith taught that ) And he said 'maybe'.
At this point he said 'I will go now' and tried to shake my hand. I told him I can't do that as he is into false ways. He refused my card and offer to sit with him and his pastor to go to God's Word for truth.
He went into the darkness of John 3:19-21 as the light of God's Word was too much for him.
Interestingly a couple days before we met the afore mentioned encounter we were in a small town witnessing to a woman who brought out mormonism and how prevailant it is in the surrounding communities, in fact there is a nationally well known group just an hour north of there that practice polygamy. We also discussed the gospel with her and shared that not only are the mormons not in truth, neither are the rest of man made religion.
Mormonism is a demonic cult. Be warned....
