The latest scripture twisting award goes to Jesse Herr of Living Faith Christian Fellowship
Jesse is the unbiblical deacon of this religious body ( see them exposed in a link at the end of this article )
Him and his lording over bishop Mark Bullen came up with and enforce a church contract on people saying you had to sign it, promising allegiance to them in order to attend there. This is totally unbiblical and modeled NO PLACE in the NT body of the first century.
When I challenged him, he gave Nehemiah 9 & 10 as a example of a church contract.
This scripture is about the nation Israel who gathered and re-committed to God's Holy law.
See verse 38 of chapter 9
And because of all this we make a sure covenant, and write it; and our princes, Levites, and priests, seal unto it.
Jesse is twisting scripture far out of context for the following reasons:
1) what they were confirming was God's law NOT a contract made of men.
2) God was speaking directly to the Prophets then, Jesse and Mark do not have that today!
3) What they did is NEVER modelled in the NT first century church we are to imitate ( 1 cor 11.1 ) they claim to hold to
4) In the NEW testament our allegiance is to Christ not men, their traditions and false systems ( Mark 7:6-9 )
5) Per Apostle Paul there is only 1 body ( see 1 cor 12 ) so the need for local church contracts is sinful and not of God.
What makes this all so sad is they admitted they were using the contract to get rid of some people vs using biblical Matt 18 church discipline ways. This is a very unbiblical / controlling body and Jesse is NOT a solid bible teacher but a YES MAN for their power hungry lone bishop.
The more I learn of their ways the more WICKED I see they really are.
