If you are going to go out and witness the biblical gospel in this dark world, you will need to know how to deal with police. I can promise you that if you boldly proclaim truth to false teachers and religious places, they will be called on you from time to time. Just as the angry crowds called the roman guards on Apostle Paul ( Jesus ) today's false teachers and carnal Christians will do the same.
The following are some useful points to help you deal with police as you minister/preach in this fallen world.
1 ) be kind and professional and record your talk with them
2) do not act angry, agitated or make fast moves ( be calm but be confident that you broke no laws )
3) offer them your driver license showing you have nothing to hide
4) explain to them your in ministry and give them a gospel card and the biblical gospel... if they will listen
5) video and audio all your ministry and offer them to hear it showing you did not wrong ( people will lie about your words )
6) be respectful and follow their instructions, calmly ( stay cool )
7) if they say you cannot preach where you are, ask why, what ordinance are you breaking? (tell them you want t obey the law)
8) If they wont offer it up, move on peacefully, just ask where you can go to learn about that reason / law they are moving you along for?
9) If you feel they are abusive, be kind, ask for their badge number and go your way ( sometimes do it very quickly ) without incident to preach somewhere else vs going to jail.
10) thank them for their service always ( unless you end up in conflict with them then its not wise )
11) know your local laws and free speech amendment rights and remind officers you have freedom of speech
12) stay off private property when preaching ( this is HUGE! )
13) avoid using super loud amplifiers ( it is very annoying to the world / keep it respectable! )
14) try to gauge the officers temperament and act accordingly
The following tips will just help you "MAYBE" avoid police contact altogether:
15) notify a police dept or chief ahead, you will be working / preaching in the area and are a law abiding preacher not a threat.
16) do not preach at vile places like gay parades, strip clubs or in front of bars ( alcohol or big rabid events/movements in one place can get you in trouble that Jesus and Paul never got involved in )
17) avoid night preaching ( it is rare when it is a "good idea" )
18) do NOT argue with people / just preach, tell them to email you to talk doctrines if it is going to be a debate
19) do NOT engage angry mockers/ hecklers/move to avoid them
20) do not yell "AT" people but lift your voice and preach to gospel.
*** Also have a plan with others in case you do get arrested.
These are just some general points that have helped me NEVER be arrested yet! :) ( I say yet as do expect one day I will be arrested as I will be either wrongly accused or I will have to break a ungodly law no doubt / See Acts 5:29 ) My goal is to OBEY all laws till they cause me to sin or not be able to obey my God.
( Jesus Paul and the other saints were all arrested. If done for the right reasons, it is glorifying to God )
