Homeless Lessons Learned in America


The homeless such a sad and sorrowful thing to see!

 I have been reaching out to beggars and the homeless for many years as we travel and do ministry in America. What I have learned is this:

 *none (that I have met) want to get off the street, get cleaned up and work even when we offer the help
* most tell me they like the life and freedom
*most all I have met are proven scammers, liars and con people 
*many are drunks or drug addicts that use the money you give to take them deeper into their sins
*some are demonic or have mental issues and they can be dangerous

 Please be wise in how you deal with them folks! 

 Jesus did say to feed the hungry:

 Matt 25
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. 

Feeding others is a good thing, but is that all there is to it from a godly and biblical perspective? 

 I have learned that giving them cash is NOT really helping them at all so do not do it. They are homeless for a reason you know and it usually involves bad life/money decisions. It is a noble and good thing to do to feed someone who is hungry but; giving the homeless a piece of pizza alone without giving them the biblical gospel to eternal life is NOT really loving them in a godly way is it? If they perish the next day into hell with a full belly have you served why Jesus really came to this earth? ( to save the lost via the gospel message )  
Also, not challenging men who should be working to provide for themselves is also not helping then in the long run either. 

 Paul said this:
But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
   
So to be lazy and not work is a SINFUL thing!

 Note: In my experience, if you want to help true needy, you would be wise to use your money to feed widows and orphans vs throwing it at what are "mostly" lazy scammers via the homeless in America that I have met. ( Fact: almost no one in America "does not have access to food" somehow via all the programs that do abound )

The reason for this post is I see so many people thinking that handing out food / money to America's homeless is a good and godly thing. While it can be good to feed the hungry and rewarding, I ask are you really helping them in the long run at all? No, frankly you are not!

 Unless you are teaching/calling them to faith, repentance, to be born again leading to holiness and obedience and enduring in a faith in Christ, you are only doing a fleshly work. 

 I am very troubled by those who say they are doing ministry and loving up on the homeless as they give out food. Sadly they either ignore the gospel or give them a corrupt incomplete gospel of just God loves you and believe in Jesus to go to heaven. They do not call the homeless to repent of their sinful ways and that is not loving at all. 

 How do we love God per His Word? We keep His commands...
1 John 5:3
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

So to close; yes Jesus said to feed to poor but he also said preach the gospel, make disciples teaching them to obey all He commanded. 
Matt 28 / Mark 16 

 How are you doing that if.... you just hand out pizza slices?
Unless you tell them the truth, that they are in the path of God's wrath and they must repent, you are not loving them in a godly way. Preach the biblical gospel to them most of all!!!

 If you want to, go and feed people using wisdom, yes indeed do it!  But to be biblical; also call men to work and preach the biblical gospel lest you do NOT help them into God's kingdom but leave them set for hell and wrath!
