Acts 15:21 Explained

I had a dear saint ask a great question on a verse that modern day Torah Keepers (hebrew root cult) love to twist to say we all should be keeping Torah today. Lets look at it and see my answer below with ***** by it.

Please explain this verse can you as Hebrew root people say the gentiles were to go on to earn and keep ALL of Torah?

Acts 15:21 KJV

For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

****It's important to understand the context. This is at the Jerusalem body of believers and most saints then were all Jews following Jesus. Those who lived under Torah law their whole life were telling gentiles to get circumcised and keep the law. The disciples clearly say no to that ...see verse 24

*****That verse 21 is just saying that Moses with the torah law is still being taught on Saturday and it was stumbling gentiles to believe they must do it all. It's is like saying the reason we have to clear this gentile issue up is Moses law is being taught on Sabbath and Jews were holding gentiles to it. Remember not all Jews turned to believe on Jesus, only some. Most stayed to keeping Torah and didn't see Him as Messiah then some followed Jesus, kept Torah as Jews and then taught gentiles to keep Torah law also. This was all coming out of the Sabbath meetings and Jews were wrong to teach gentiles to keep torah. They kept teaching Torah law and it affected both the believing Jews and gentile Christians. The apostles clear that up and say gentiles are NOT to keep the Torah law.

****Read Acts 21 were they again say no to law keeping for gentiles and read Gal 2 were Peter is rebuked for living as and like a gentile till the Jews show up. It's proof gentiles didnt keep  Torah.

*****One last thought on this that really exposes Hebrew roots ways ... ...the 4 things they gave the gentiles to keep we're in place in pre Torah before Exodus 20 and the Levitical law. (like marriage and tunic dress) Avoiding idols goes back to pre Torah see Genesis 38 ...not eating blood or things strangled ...Noah was told to not do that in Genesis 9:4 and avoiding fornication was already in place in Genesis 6 were it angered God. We do not see the gentiles going on to keep Torah at all. In 1 Cor 11 they are keeping the Lord supper not Passover.
Those 4 things given to the gentiles were laws pre torah men kept and we keep still today as they were for all mankind, not just Torah keepers.
