Splinters and Sin

(a tiny wood splinter from my hand)

I have been working on many projects on the homestead and I recently had a splinter wound. It made me think about God's amazing physical creation (the human body) and His spiritual creation in His people as well.

Fact: the human body is designed to push out a foreign object asap like a splinter (or virus) by attacking it. Within hours my hand was red, tender and swollen in that area as the body worked to attack / remove that invader (splinter) from is presence. If it stayed there it could cause infection leading to lose of the hand or even death.

This had me think about splinters, sin and God's design. Let me share them with you as a teaching moment below:

*The Creator built in a defense for splinters just as He gave us the Savior to war against / beat sin for us.

For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Mark 10:45

*The human body is NOT made to have foreign objects in it and the born again believer is not made to keep any sin.

Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. Romans 6:13

*God's creation is amazing detecting that tiny invader then working to push it out asap. Like the Holy Spirit he convicts of sin and it must go

And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: John 16

*The splinter was so small but it mattered to my body to get it out; just as no matter the sin (big or small in ramifications) we are called to remove all sins.

And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. John 8:11

*My hand was painful and swollen when that splinter stayed just as if we hold on to sin it destroys and grows into much worse things in our life.

A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. Gal 5:9

*God created red blood to cleanse our wounds and heal us just as Christ's blood cleanses our souls.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1 John 1:7

*Once that splinter was removed, I had instead relief just as when we confess out sins, we get peace and forgiveness from the Father.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

* If I rebelled against His design and let that splinter stay I would suffer physical pain and loss just as if we let sin stay in us, we will suffer in this life and have eternal loss of our souls

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? Romans 6:16

*I did not even notice the splinter and I worked on but a few hours later it was very painful. This is like getting used to sin and worldliness in life; you do not even know how much danger you are in.

So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Rev 3:16

The Father designed a way to protect our bodies and He also designed a way to protect our souls.  Via the Christ/Word/Spirit we can know what sin is, see it coming or realize it is already in us; then he gives us the power to over come it. He also commands we repent and leave all sin for His glory and our own eternal good or we will be damned as we keep and live in willful sin:

That is my simple observation on splinters and sin. Ponder it, how God designed the human body and how He has ordained we walk in holiness and obedience fleeing all sin that will destroy us. He is a good Father as He tells us what is best for us; then He gives us the tools (repentance, Christ, the Word and Spirit) to carry it all out in this faith life unto eternal life to come if we endure.

Good News!

You do not have to walk around with splinters in your body and you do not have to live in on going sin. Jesus has over come for us via thegospel ( see it below) now we must follow Him and obey in all things as fruit we are His.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

Only a fool would walk around with splinters in their body and worse yet; only a bigger fool walks around with on going sin thus denying Christ and in the end, it will damn his eternal soul. My God has made a way for you to be redeemed so I ask; are you on the narrow road? See the gospel below....

May this truth bless you as you seek His kingdom!

God be praised
