When Can Godly Wives Leave Sinful Husbands

The following article is needed to cover a unique situation that we  have encountered over the years and again just recently. It is the situation of a believing woman and her need to separate from a sinful husband to go serve God in spirit and truth.

In the most recent case, see her anabaptist / Hutterite cult body exposed at a link below for their heresy, sin and false gospel:

We teach and support lifetime marriage for those in Christ, only allowing divorce/remarriage for fornication or abandonment. We also confess that any pre-conversion divorce/remarriage is washed clean 2 Cor 5:17 as we are new creations and ALL is made new. I also need to say that I have taught on the topic extensively from an anabaptist refuting perspective. See many articles on divorce and remarriage at the link below that exposes many of the false ways regarding it in the anabaptist circles. (anabaptist's have marriage very very wrong)

On to the main topic of a godly woman leaving a husband to serve God.

I want to list some points that we totally agree on in scripture, then I will frame why it is totally biblical for her to leave her husband over her faith.

1) Wives are to submit fully to their husbands Eph 5:22 until he forces  her to sin or not be able to follow Christ biblically.

 2) If an unbeliever is happy to dwell with her/doesn't stop her from serving God biblically she cannot leave him.

3) If an unbelieving husband leaves her, she is NOT bound. 1 Cor 7:15

4) If she leaves him, she cannot remarry but must stay celibate until he dies or he leaves their union to be with another woman

In this current case that we have helped with, we have a Hutterite lady who left them and she wants to serve Jesus in truth. She was denied by her husband from hearing the true gospel or even being in free will contact with godly saints. Sadly she was living in a cult colony setting, basically controlled and forced to do their false ways. We know she cannot serve Jesus as He has called her to do so we encouraged her to act to be made free. (See that colony exposed below with a link and testimony of a young couple who left another colony.) After much study and prayer, the men (and sisters) of our fellowship came to her side and we counseled her to do the following:

1) To leave the colony life/her husband (a separation) to go be with some blood family that are godly biblical saints and join the fellowship of other ekklesia saints that we know all over the globe.

2) We instructed her it is only separation (NOT a divorce) on her part and she cannot be with another man until his death or he divorces her to lay with another. She is not leaving to divorce him or to be with another man as we would NOT condone that ever nor does she want that.

3) Her husband will be told immediately that if he will arrange for her to live off the colony and be free to serve God biblically, she will return to him and be an obedient wife per Eph 5:22.

4) If he denies that and chooses to stay living on the cult colony grounds, she will NOT return to him and stay in a "separated but celibate state" with blood family saints and in fellowship with other  saints.

Holy Scripture Says

I would finally offer to you the following verses that allow for her to be FREE to seek and serve Christ if a sinful husband denies her the clear command from God to serve, follow and obey Him in all things:

Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first. Matt 19:27-30

Jesus said: Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. Matt 10:34-39

Jesus said marriage is only earthly thus our heavenly covenant with God is far superior:

For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. Matt 22:30

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. Acts 5:29

But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. 1 Cor 7:11

Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.

1 Cor 7:21

In such a case it must be noted that it is the remarrying and laying with another man that would make it sinful. If she leaves and stays celibate/does not remarry, there is NO sin involved.

Jesus made it clear, He came to divide and separate. We know  scripture also makes it clear that service and faithfulness to God is THE most important matter above all else in this life.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Matt 22:37

Marriage is wonderful, but it is nothing more then an earthly physical covenant and the blood covenant we have (once born in Christ) far surpasses it in importance. God always allowed for even commanded divorce in the Old and New covenant proving marriage is NOT always "for life" though it was designed to be so but that was before sin came into the world. God is merciful and allows for the spirit vs the letter in all things; including marriage.

I hope that brings clarity to this topic for all and we believe per scripture she and our fellowship that will support her are BLAMELESS.

While this situation is NOT about divorce, you can see many articles on the topic of Divorce and Remarriage at this link. It is a fact that anabaptist's often focus on it and since they are wrong on many areas of it; I wanted these articles posted here to edify / instruct:

May the all the false denominations/Hutterites/anabaptist's repent of all their sinful man made  false ways and find new life in Christ.

God be praised
