Repent, come out of the world and obey the gospel!!!
We came across one of our favorite scripture verses recently:
take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:5
This seemed quite timely as we were reminded it is once again NFL / Super Bowl football season. We once lived in the heart of a very rabid society of football (Wisconsin) fanatics so we can't avoid knowing it is here once again as others remind us by talking about it 24-7, waving flags, wearing jerseys, acting rowdy and such. (I understand as I was once part of that fan base but when I was born from above (John 3:3) I realized it was carnal,worldly and it feeds ones flesh so I left it and repented of that ill pastime.) Over our time of testing things to God's Holy Word we have run into many men, so called Christians, even / modern pastors who defend their love of the NFL with all their might as "so called" followers of Jesus Christ. *Click HERE to see a past article we wrote about the NFL and the reasons it should be avoided by holy believers and if you partake of it God will judge you one day lest you repent!
It sickens me to see men who claim my Holy Holy Holy God yet they bow their knee to the idolatry and carnality of the NFL / Super Bowl. A good example is the Kansas City chiefs owner and quarter back who claim Jesus but love the vain glory of the world / NFL / Super Bowl.

2 cor 11
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
These men need to repent as they are mixing the holy with the profane and God will NOT be mocked!!!!! Galatians 6
I do have a few simple questions to pose to any of these male fans, participating men, or any modern pastor's who like the Super Bowl ( esp ) those who claim to be born into God's Holy family through Christ that still enjoys putting the violent NFL offerings before their eyes:
How does watching what is violent, of man's pride, immodest, greedy to win, boastful of your team, built on lewd advertising/alcohol and is rowdy of the fallen world help you to take your every thought captive for Christ? Can you really take those thoughts captive as a violent man is crushing another man or harlot dressed cheerleaders run on the field or the sexual commercials are run before your eyes?
Jesus said His sheep are to FOLLOW Him and He leads us out of the world NOT into its sinful ways!
We also thought about this verse:
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever 1 John 2:15-17
We would then ask those same people; how does loving the NFL that the world loves and offers you NOT make you love the things of the world that God's Word says don't! And does the NFL make up the very things God's Word says His people avoid?
Another verse came to mind: Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8
We would then ask them: what about the carnal NFL is true, noble, pure and lovely based on God's Holy character and nature? When you focus on the NFL are you inline with the Holy Word?
Here is other favorite verses of ours:
Jesus said, be perfect (mature) as the Father is perfect
Matthew 5:48
be holy in all your conduct 1 Peter 1:15
We would also ask this: if holy means set apart for God and perfect means mature in God, how are you set apart or mature when you are 'set in the stands or set in front of the TV' to view what is of and for the world, not a Holy God?
The Apostle Paul says this:
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: Ephesians 5
On Sunday when you're in a religious building acting all holy for God what are you (on the same day) when your later sitting in front of a TV and watching ungodly, worldly, violent NFL / Super Bowl entertainment? Are you holy/mature or ungodly and disobedient?
Perhaps this verse is also a good one for this topic:
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil Ephesians 5:16
We would ask you how are you redeeming the time for a Holy God as you feed your flesh on what the world esteems?
Lastly, we believe this verse says: much as well: Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you
2 Corinthians 6:17
We want to know how are you "coming out from among the world's ways" and "not touching an unclean thing" as you sit right among them and enjoy the same dirty pagan idol games they enjoy that are not of God; but of the world's fallen system? (This is satan's world isn't it?)

We really would like someone who is a modern pastor or a man who is solid in his faith and biblical knowledge to email me, stick to the questions and ..... answer them for us.

Many people will try to say "oh you can glorify God anywhere and while doing all kinds of things". While you can glorify God anywhere; you CANNOT do it as you enjoy worldly carnal fun yourself! This is not only pragmatism (using bad/evil for a good outcome) which is wrong but it is not consistent to God's Word.
Please think about what you are saying here will you? Do you really believe that God's people would condone idol, carnal, prideful, vain glory, violent carnality if they are really His? Can they stay in a sinful hobby or entertainment feeding the flesh and still be serving a Holy Holy Holy God? Many tell us you can be a born again Christian and be a NFL football player. Really? Can a man who fights in the bloody MMA sport stay there and be a holy Christian? How about a lady who is a cheerleader; can she stay there too and be a biblical believer? And can the men who come watch her also say they are born again too?
This is foolishness and NOT part of a Holy God's true people at all. Please understand that it matters not if ALL your family/ friends and coworkers are into it. It also does not matter if even your modern pastor and other church goers are all excited about it. Jesus said NARROW is the way (Matthew 7) and FEW will find it.
There will NOT be any sports or worldly entertainment in heaven so why are you feeding on it here and now if your really His and have your mind set on things ABOVE?
set your mind on things above Colossians 3:2
Did you know that the bible says if you're HIS you are NOT your own but a willing slave to Him? (look that one up) we want to assure you that if you are truly His today, you will hear His Word and come out of what the world esteems highly that is unholy and not of good report. God's Word says:
Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men, is abomination in the sight of God."
--Luke 16:15.
Our phone awaits a call to have someone who claims Christ answer those biblical questions posed about watching the NFL/entertainment as a member of the Holy family of God.
Repent, be made new and follow God's Holy Word not your flesh and do it all for His glory!
