Some weeks back we found a flyer that said Gospel Meetings were being held in a town we drove through. We called them and left a message.
Some weeks later a man named Loren called us and it was him.
We talked about his gospel meetings and what exactly they do and here was what he told us:
*They are not with any organized group
*They go out in 2 x 2 evangelistic efforts / having no earthly material things of their own
*They do not work and stay in homes of other believers
*They hold meetings where they read some from the bible, sing and a minister gives a message
*They do not have any buildings or hold any regular meetings but do bible studies in homes
*They have believers all over the nation
*They hold annual conventions
All of this sounded very strange to us and we went deeper to discern them.
I asked him what the gospel was ( in full ) and he said 'follow Jesus'.
When I mentioned the full biblical gospel to him (see it below)
He said "well I do not have the gospel memorized". He has been a minister in this group for 20 years and he does not work but just spends his time on ministry and he still does not have God's gospel memorized?
I moved on to who Jesus is?
He said "Jesus is son of God but NOT God"!
This is heresy!
I asked him various biblical questions on that and he could not answer.
John 1, Genesis 1 and John 8 where Jesus said "I am" and was before Abraham.
As soon as I lovingly exposed his heresy and explained he cannot have eternal life or hope with his false Jesus and perverted gospel, he decided he had to go and he got off the phone. This was shortly after I asked him if he had time to talk in which he responded 'yes'.
We learned enough to know he is holding gospels meetings in a town and we will go visit there soon.
We also searched the web and found his name on the internet directly linked to a cult group that claims to have NO name but it is known by various names like:
2 by 2's
The Truth
Bun heads
Black stockings
Workers and friends
Coonyties
(Among other names.)
We also learned quickly that:
They were started in Europe back in the 1800's by a man William Irving that claimed he was God's new witness and prophet and he had visions and false predictions of Christ's return. They have some 40,000 people in Europe and 40,000 people in America. They strive to be off the radar of the public ( secrecy ) and they collect money that goes to their upper leaders. Some travel and set up meetings and bible studies and they get regions to work. They are not in line with God's full Word. They are called workers while many work and provide homes and cars for the workers. They teach false ways and it is a sad deception of the enemy Lucifer.
He comes as a light ( workers of Jesus ) but it is a group full of lies and deception and a false gospel that cannot save anyone.
This is why we test and expose lies out here as many are swept away in such error and sin.
