Many unbiblical groups/cults claim that the TRUE office of Prophet / Apostle is still active today and God is still giving "new revelation" to men and that is a lie. This is a dangerous unbiblical theology that must be exposed as it is deceiving millions.

And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
It clearly says the body of Christ was built on the foundation of the Apostles, Prophets and Christ Himself. Are we to believe that men today can now continue to build on the foundation as new Apostles and Prophets that was already laid 2000 years ago? No that is not possible and it defies the Word of God.
Moving on....
Peter says this:
And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
Acts 5:32
An Apostle was a witness to Christ and the events of that time or men who worked with those who witnessed Jesus. So no man can be a TRUE biblical Apostle today.
Apostle Paul said this about him an Apostle eye witnessing the Lord
Am I am not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?
1 Cor 9.1
Again Apostles witnessed the Lord or worked by those who did.
Paul also said this:
After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
1 Cor 15.8
More proof... a true Apostle saw Christ or worked by other TRUE Apostles and Paul was the LAST apostle!
Peter said this:
2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
2 Peter 3;2
He told us to heed the words of the past Prophets, NOT future ones.
Jude says this:
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
It teaches the faith ( instruction doctrine and word ) was ONCE delivered. It is done being delivered again so the office of Prophet and Apostle is NOT needed now.
Paul also said this
Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.
2 Cor 12:12
To those claiming to be TRUE Apostles/prophets today, I say where are your signs and wonders? Show them to us or repent or your ill ways!
On the topic of new revelation the book of Revelation 22 says this:
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
The bible is the sealed and complete Word of God. For men to say they get NEW revelation means they are adding to it and in this they are condemned by it!
Perhaps the best evidence we have of no more Prophets/revelation is this:

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
It clearly says that in the past God used Prophets but today He speaks via the Word. ( Jesus ) Christ was the last and greatest prophet yet men today say they too are prophets but this defies God's Word once again.
All of these verses show us the office of a Prophet and Apostle is closed as the purpose was to witness the Lord and help lay the foundation for the body and the Word of God. Today we have the foundation and the finished Word so we need no NEW revelation prophets or apostles.
Note: there are some saying we can be called Prophets (we speak Gods revealed Word) and Apostles (men are sent out) today but they do not have the same power. I understand that but it is a dangerous way and I myself will not call any man one those titles today.
