Faith and Works are NOT Exclusive!
UPDATED: NOV 28 2021
See my post first then; I also refute his post he did after I had posted mine. It is below at the end of this post.
In my effort, to refute a evangelical novice in Australia trying to lie online about my ministry teachings; I wanted to further expose this quote from him that he placed on a article about me. It is a total twisting of scripture as he says the "as faith and works are mutually exclusive terms".
Note: Simeon reminds me of Luther as; Martin Luther was afraid of God's wrath over his many sins. Instead of repenting to new life / obeying, Luther invented evangelical easy believe false ways (five solas that Simeon admitted are not in God's Word as stated) I have a email to me from Simeon in 2020 saying he lays in bed crying in fear about his sin but instead of repenting to holiness (Acts 2/1 Peter 1;15) he, just like Luther, ran in the ditch of Faith and Grace alone heresy. I pray Simeon comes to himself and repents lest he perish in his sins.
(see a link below that fully answers all of his lies and exposes him as a novice false teacher ....)
Here is his quote that I am dealing with:
Mutually exclusive terms and a non sensical gospel?????Simeon the evangelical is very confused as works and faith have always gone together. God NEVER saved anyone UNCONDITIONALLY anywhere (faith without works) in Holy scripture. In a covenant; there is always conditions and two parties. God did His part so; in a saving faith covenant, we must do ours! (see Adam and Eve, Noah, Abraham, Israel and all the way to the Matt 26 blood covenant/NT body life)
Simeon is quite unbiblical and let me illustrate it. If he courts a young woman for marriage and if he did get married would he tell her; oh dear I know you love me. But your works/actions are separate so.... if you want to be with other men, that is fine? Would Simeon settle for a harlot bride? I doubt it and it shows Simeon Doecke has a hypocritical double standard. He says we all will sin on and on against God and He just forgives it all (no need to repent of all sin/live holy and do good works daily) due to Christ's blood. Yet; he will expect his bride to be FULLY faithful to him daily!
Woe to you hypocrites.... per Jesus in Matt 23.
The scriptures below will show he is so very wrong as faith and works do go together in a persons "saving" faith. He has been corrupted by hi flesh, sin, many false teachers and mainly Luther theology of the Solas and faith ALONE. But no where does God's ever Word teach this ill doctrine. Luther ran from the ditch of man made "works based" roman catholic ways into a ditch of easy believeism/grace/faith alone heresy. (see the link below on the five Sola's exposed)
To be clear, we are NOT saved by works as we need Christ's perfect righteousness. But rather; our works of obedience prove we have faith, His Grace & Spirit in us. It is also fruit that we are His branches on the path to be saved; if we endure.Lets get at this faith and works in scripture:
****************************************************************
When refuting these evangelical heretics who say we are saved by faith alone; I often start with a righteous man named Noah. The bible says:
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. Genesis 6:8 & 9
Verse 22 tells us... Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.
Does anyone with any biblical knowledge or the smallest bit of wisdom really think Noah would have been saved from the flood unless he worked / obeyed God, worked and built the ark?
There is your saving faith with works to salvation!
The Old Testament is full of men who believed God then acted to obey as fruit of their saving faith thus gaining God's grace.
Lets look at the NT Word where we see many men commended for their faith proved by their works:
By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. Hebrews 11

Not sure we need to go any further but; it gets even more convincing when we get to the book of James.
Fact: Luther wanted the book of James tossed out of the bible as it refutes his wicked easy believe theology!
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2
There is your saving faith with works to salvation!
James is so clear that faith and works are linked together NOT exclusive at all per novice Sim Doecke and Martin "murderous man" "Luther. These men must be rejected as dangerous heretics and enemies of the gospel truth!
We can keep going on into Romans for more evidence where we learn that we cant go on in sin or..... we are condemned:
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6
There is your saving faith with works to salvation!
More from Romans telling us to live in the flesh (sin) is DEATH not LIFE!
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Romans 8
There is your saving faith with works to salvation!
Jesus Himself had MANY words about faith and works. Matthew 25 is just one area to review :
Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 25
Jesus said this:
Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are. Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. Luke 13
There is your saving faith with works to salvation!
He also said this in Revelation
Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. Revelation 3;12
There is your saving faith with works to salvation!
There are many many more scriptures that show if you are born of God, you WILL want to and you must do acts of works/obedience to have MUCH FRUIT per Jesus. It is biblical and clearly taught as proof you are of Him. (see John 15) The bible also warns of willful sin NOT being covered by His sacrifice. See Hebrews 10:26 & 27 and that is faith and works at play.
We saints born of Him are His bride. Who wants a whore bride who keeps sinning daily and does not strive in works of purity, holiness, faithfulness and righteousness as proof of her love? Would Simeon settle for a harlot acting bride? I know my God will NOT!

My second answer to Simeon's heresy:
See Simeon's reply to my original post and my answer with **** by my words below
Jim recently did a post ‘refuting’ a statement I made in my previous post on the Five Sola’s.
**** If you go read the others posts I did on Simeon; we have him ADMITTING the Five Solas do NOT appear in scripture as the reformers wrote them. They add to / twist scripture when God said do not do that! see Rev 22 / Lets go on...
The particular statement that he took issue with was when I said; “For if works as well as faith in Christ are necessary for salvation, then we have an utterly non-sensical Gospel, as faith and works are mutually exclusive terms.”
**** The biblical gospel of faith that leads to works; is NOT non sensical at all. God always had covenants that required something of mankind. This is Simeon's big issue he does not recognize a covenant but God always had no and there is NO such thing as unconditional salvation. See Matt 26 and the NEW blood covenant from Jesus Himself.
That last phrase, “as faith and works are mutually exclusive terms,” he took particular issue with and this is what the bulk of his post was directed against. Now the statement, “faith and works are mutually exclusive terms,” is entirely true if understood in one way, and entirely untrue if understood in another way.
**** Yes, as with most evangelicals they must twist things in terrible Eiesegsis to make it work for them. Paul warned about men/false mindsets like this in Col 2:8
So what did I mean in saying that, and is it Biblical as I maintain, or unbiblical, wicked, and heretical as Jim claims? What I mean in saying that faith and works are mutually exclusive terms is that we cannot enter into the grace of God through both faith AND works, it must be one or the other, and the latter is completely ruled out in scripture.
**** No it is not and the book of James says Simeon is in great error as he said this: And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. James 2:23 & 24
That is to say, that we cannot both trust God and the finished work of Christ and thereby enter into his grace, AND, work our way into the grace of God by trying to live morally upright lives.
**** Simeon does not pay very close attention in his studies. I already state all over my website and at the start of my first article; we do NOT work our way to God's Grace. We come by faith; then as new creations we are to work/obey to produce fruit as proof we know Him in a saving faith. (vine and branches John 15 or we get tossed in the fire) Once we have been given the only chance we have "via Christ" for a new start; Paul says it clearly what we we must do in Him: What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Romans 6:16& 17
Does Simeon think you can live in sin, serving sin and still claim salvation because Paul says otherwise. I am going with Brother Paul and not a novice Simeon.
This is taught VERY CLEARLY in the New Testament, in Romans 3-4, and Galatians 2 and 5 in particular. Below are just a few scripture verses on this unmistakably clear teaching, that justification and entrance into the God’s gift of Grace, can ONLY come by faith(trust), and not works; these are indeed mutually exclusive terms when understood in this sense.
**** We already established that faith and works go together per James 2 / Romans 6as they prove your saving faith. Jesus said this: If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. John 15:10 Luther HATED the book of James and wanted it out of the bible. What a wicked man Simeon takes his theology from like the Five Solas.
Romans 3:28 “For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.”
Romans 4:5 “But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness.”
Galatians 2:16 “nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus…”
**** Simeon has not been taught how to study in context. The context of all those verses are the keeping and working of Torah law. Paul was battling Jewish men telling gentiles to keep Torah law and we are NOT justified by that law at all. This is 101 stuff but a novice like Simeon cant/wont know that as he is too prideful.
In the first verse, notice the phrase “apart from”, and in the second two, notice the word, “but.”
These words are critical in understanding the works/faith divide in justification, because they vividly show the separation that Paul was communicating between, between faith and works in the process of justification. NOT this, BUT that, is the key tone of these verses; justification NOT by works, BUT by faith.
**** Simoen has to pick at and proof text and pull out verses here and there. If you just read God's Word, it is full of examples of faith and works. Here is Brother Paul again: Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; Romans 2:7 thru 9
What I DO NOT mean by stating that faith and works are mutually exclusive terms, is that faith and works do not go together in a believer’s life. I do not mean that works are unimportant and do not matter, because after all, we’re saved by grace through faith alone, so why not just sin away!
***** Remember Simeon already agreed in a earlier Five Solas post and admitted that the term FAITH ALONE/GRACE ALONE are NOT in scripture as stated so; he should stop quoting it. We are saved by the grace of God ( we need that via Christ) then through faith in His work and it produces our own works of obedience or; we are NOT shown to be His and are rebellious; on our way to hell. Hebrews 10:26 is very clear: For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
This is what Jim takes me to mean, although I have never said anything close to that. He claims that I do not care about how we live our lives as believers as shown in his comment below:
“He says we all will sin on and on against God and He just forgives it all (no need to repent of all sin/live holy and do good works daily) due to Christ's blood.”
I have of course never said anything of the sort, and I firmly continue to maintain that the way we live our lives AFTER salvation, matters a great deal and it must be a reflection of Christ’s life.
***** Three problems with what Simeon says here:
1) his evangelical beliefs and their founder Luther says SIN BOLDLY and you can sin 1000 times a day and still go to heaven:
Does Simeon believe Luther... as his theology is of Luther?2) Simeon does NOT leave all sin. He keeps a false gospel, he links to heretic wicked/occult false teachers, he quotes calvinists, he is into books of men vs Gods Word as truth, he is feminized, he is paganized with pagan holidays, he has pride and vanity in his unbiblical dress... so it appears he does NOT live in holiness as he claims.
Because of our new heart which God gave to us when we turn FROM our sin and all attempts to save ourselves, TO God in faith, we now desire to live lives that are pleasing to God. This does not only mean that we turn from certain bad things that we’ve been doing, bad patterns of thinking, and bad practices that we’ve been engaging in, but also that we PUT ON and LIVE OUT the fruits of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The presence of these fruits in our life, is no less important in Gods work of renewing our heart than the absence of certain pattern of behaviour and thinking.
***** Notice he said when we turn from sin. Simeon still has to do that as I showed you. And we are to indeed have those gifts of the spirit but; we are to leave all sin which Simeon dos not do. Jesus said GO sin no more in John 8:11 so I guess trying to living without sin really matters to Jesus. Also, the fruit of the spirit is goodness, righteousness and truth as well per Eph 5:9 / Simeon is showing how lacking he is there.
What characterizes a Christlike life? A life that desires and is growing closer to becoming absent of certain bad qualities, or a life that desires to possess and that is growing in possession of certain good qualities? The answer is both. The heart that has turned from wickedness and all attempts to save itself, to God and his ability to save, will be changed by God into a new heart that loves righteousness.
****I do not see that love for righteousness in Simeon or his many worldly leaning brothers or his dad as they keep sin, false teacher associations and false ways. I want better for them but they are stiff necked and rebellious set on mans theology NOT biblical truth. Jesus said judge a tree by its fruit Luke 6 . The Doecke mens tree is sorely lacking godly fruit but I do know a godly young woman in that family glory to God!!!!
That is the call that we as believers have, and thank God, because He has given us a new heart, that is also the call that we WANT to live out!
This is the position that I stand firmly upon, that works DO MATTER, but they do not play any part in justification, and they are CERTAINLY NOT part of the Gospel. Remember, we are saved by grace, through faith, UNTO good works, not BY good works, Ephesians 2:10.
******By his evangelical theology "that works do not affect our salvation"; does Simeon really believe that a lost person or a saint who goes into murder, homosexuality, stealing and lying need to repent and stop their sin or.... do they just get to enter in on FAITH ALONE/GRACE ALONE? James says evangelical Simeon is wrong in chapter 5:19 &20 as sin leads to death:Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
“Does anyone with any biblical knowledge or the smallest bit of wisdom really think Noah would have been saved from the flood unless he worked / obeyed God, worked and built the ark? There is your saving faith with works to salvation!(emphasis his) The Old Testament is full of men who believed God then acted to obey as fruit of their saving faith thus gaining God's grace.”
Did Noah become righteous with God by obeying his instructions to build the ark? Did he gain Gods grace by acting in obedience to God’s instructions as Jim claims? NO!
***** Wrong again, read your bible, not Luther. Noah had faith and righteous works that is why God gave him Him grace. Genesis 6:8 &9 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
I will ask another question: does anyone with any bible knowledge think God would see Noah as perfect "unless" he obeyed God? Simeon is desperate to prove faith alone but it is crumbling on him as scripture crushes his theology. Phil 2;12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. ( Fear and trembling Paul???? I guess Simeon's Faith alone ..Grace alone theology is far from of God's word isnt it? )
Just like every other person in history, Noah became righteous with God through faith, as Hebrews 11:7 tells us: “By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.”
**** Yes by faith and works together .... just like the Prophets, Paul, Jesus, Peter and James teach all over the scriptures. Read your bible in full and not the reformers and the truth is easy to see but; not for novice evangelical Simeon. I want better for him its so sad!
So no, Noah would not have been saved from the flood and declared righteous if he had not obeyed the instructions of God, not because by obeying he earnt the grace of God, but because by obeying he proved that his faith was genuine. It was THAT faith that made him righteous before God.
***** We already made clear we cant earn salvation! But Noah NEEDED the faith and works as proof to be saved. Got it ...thank you for that as that is what I teach all over my website!
Jim goes on to quote most of Hebrews 11 and attempts to make the same point as he did with Noah, that faith and works go together for salvation.
In each of the cases that he quotes from Hebrews 11, Abel, Abraham, Sarah, and Isaac, the situation is exactly the same as with Noah. They were saved BY FAITH, which was proved genuine by obedience to God. This passage from Hebrews 11 is in fact worthy of a whole study in itself, and I cannot go into detail on each of these characters of faith at the moment. You can do it yourself; read Hebrews 11 ten times over to become familiar with the passage, and then begin to go through it more slowly and carefully, taking notice of the phrase, “by faith,” and then the clarifying clause which comes after that which explains how that faith expressed itself. What you WILL NOT find, is any hint of faith AND works going together for salvation.
***** Simeon is very confused as he just admitted Noah needed faith and his works as fruit to be saved. How about the believing couple in Acts 5 who did not have good works but sin and God killed them dead? How about Acts 8:22/ believer Simon who wanted to buy God's power and Peter tells him repent to MAYBE be forgiven lest he be damned!!! Does Simeon think they went to heaven on Grace Alone or that Simeon was fine with just FAITH ALONE and still being in his sin? Peter warned him of hell but I guess Peter missed the memo on FAITH ALONE and GRACE ALONE? I have foolish evangelicals claiming lies and they look very bad doing so as Simeon does here!
He then goes on to quote most of James chapter 2 to further prove his point that faith and works go together for salvation. He further states that, “James is so clear that faith and works are linked together NOT exclusive at all per novice Sim Doecke and Martin "murderous man" "Luther. These men must be rejected as dangerous heretics and enemies of the gospel truth!”
As I explained before, I do not disagree that faith and works are linked together. I just disagree on HOW they are linked together.
I believe they are linked in that works follow faith and are a living proof of its genuineness, NOT that faith and works go together in order to gain access to God’s grace and justification.
**** Warning; scripture twister alert here. Now Simeon minces words as he is getting exposed by scripture. He is trying to explain his way out of bad theology but he needs to just repent of it! Gal 1 says he is pushing a accursed easy grace different gospel.
What I believe James 2 is teaching is not that faith and works go together for justification, but rather he is explaining WHAT KIND OF FAITH saves. Look at James 2:14 “What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can such faith save him?”
Notice that he is not describing a salvation that comes from a combination of faith and works, but rather a salvation that comes from a certain kind of faith, that is, genuine faith(trust) which proves itself to be genuine by its fruit.
**** Simeon has dashed his hope of having Gods truth as he is blinded and poisoned by evangelical heresy. James clearly teaches that faith and works cannot be separated. Since we are in a covenant with God; I go back to the marriage example. Can Simeon's future wife say she loves Him but her actions/works are not connected to that love so she can lay with other men and he will say oh she loves me but just not in work/actions? Can we claim we love and have faith in God and we just sin on without leaving all sin for good works / holiness? You cant separate faith from obedience. Christ made the way for those who OBEY him. Hebrews 5:9 ...Folks; please explain that verse without twisting it evangelical style.
Jim continues by quoting several passages from Romans, a few from the gospels, and one from Revelation, each of which he claims supports the idea that faith and works go together for salvation.
I will leave these passages with you because I want you to see for yourself that they teach nothing of the sort. Romans 6, Romans 8, Matthew 25:14-30, Luke 13:23-28. I do not need to waste time going through each of them to show that they do not teach faith+ works for salvation. I trust you can see this yourself.
**** So it is a waste of time to go to more of God's Word on this topic??? Simeon hides from these verses as he cant explain them away easily. Let me post them again as they do show Faith and works are united as I do not let Simeon ignore/toss out God's Holy Word so easily you wicked evangelical novice!

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Romans 6
Romans 8
Jesus said ....
Matthew 25
Jesus said this: Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are. Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. Luke 13
I pray that this brief post has been edifying to you, and I trust that you are able to see the shallowness and lack of care with which Jim handles scripture on this topic.
**** You can see Simeon could not prove what he says as he just ignores much of God's Word to proof text in his heresy of Luthers wicked evangelicalism.
Faith and works are indeed mutually exclusive terms when it comes to how we receive God’s gift of righteousness and enter into a relationship with him.
**** God's Word in full does NOT prove this at all. They have to do twisting and eisegesis to get there not good exegesis for all truth. Both Luther and Simeon are heretics. James says it clear...
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
You either try to WORK your way into God’s grace, or you TRUST in HIS WORK and enter into his grace this way. Only one of these paths will get you there, the path of faith. Which will you take?
***** We already covered you cant work to the grace! But once we are new we CANNOT stay in sin or we die! Romans 8 / Simeon has swallowed Faith Alone and Grace alone theology why????.... to cover up his ongoing sins. He cant see that we come to the grace of God/salvation by the gospel: ....
by Faith in Christs work, repentance, new life, the fruit is good works/obedience and enduring in that faith to the end. He is so desperate to believe faith and works are NOT united so he does not have to obey all of God's Word in holiness as it calls you out of the culture and you will lose family and friends. But; he is dead wrong and in great danger of God's wrath. Note: Simeon reminds me of Luther as Martin Luther was afraid of God's wrath over his many sins. Instead of repenting to new life / obeying, he invented evangelical easy believe ways. I have a email from Simeon in 2020 saying he lays in bed crying in fear about his sin but instead of repenting to holiness ( 1 Peter 1;15 ) he just like Luther ran in the ditch of Faith and Grace alone heresy. I pray Simeon comes to himself and repents lest he perish in his sins. See all of our resources to help you in the true faith and out of evangelical false ways..... like Simeon is keeping.
God be praised
