2 Side Door Van Screen System

In van life, you do spend time in your van and we work online for the ministry often so, air flow is a key. As you know if you read some of our stuff, we like simple inexpensive and easy. Check out my van window screens post as proof of that:

For us, the next step was a screen so when we open up our two side doors, we do not get covered in bugs coming to the lights. Here was my simple and cheap fix (vs commercial van window screen kits way over $190 and more) We did ours for about $25

Materials:
several rolls of screen, two clamps, about 8-10 magnets and pins

Here it is and it works great and only takes like 45 seconds to set up. This is how it was done:

Get a roll of cloth screen and unroll it to the bottom of door and clamp it like this and cut the bottom. Leave a over lap of course

Use big magnets to hold it to the van all the way around and smaller magnets pined in the screen. I used 9 or 10 total

You can safety pin the magnets to stay in place like this too

Then drop another roll next to the first one to the bottom edge and cut leaving a over lap.

You want to have two over lapping screens so there is a entrance section in the middle and you can pin in magnets that area to hold it shut when closed. See how many you need as that is based on the shape of your van.

That is it!

When you don't need it, the screens roll up like this for storage.
(that is a old t-shirt cut in strips for ties to secure it)
