God's Word calls His people ekklesia...called out and calls for them to be set apart for Him.
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
(2 Corinthians 6:17)
We decided to list the many areas that we have been called out and separated from this world, unto God. We hope this is an encouragement to others who have a similar list. (If you click on any highlighted words you will be taken to teaching articles pertaining to that subject.)
* Most of our family have rejected us.
* Our old friends have rejected us.
* We reject man-made religion (evangelical/denominationalism.
* We reject all pagan ways.
* We don't watch movies of any kind.
* We don't own a television nor watch it anywhere.
* We don't browse youtube, in fact we call people out from it.
* We don't watch or participate in organized sports events.
* We don't listen to nor play instrumental music.
* We threw away our worldly sinful clothes and wear biblical clothing.
* Women are head covered (cover their glory/head).
* Women threw away their makeup and vanity inducing articles.
* Women no longer adorn themselves and instead wear plain clothing.
* Women are no longer feminist and instead under submission.
* Men are no longer feminized and are leaders in their homes.
* We are no longer foolish and coarse jesting.
* We redeem the time in God's Word and the proclamation of it.
* We don't participate in worldly festivals and carnivals.
* We tossed out our pagan wedding rings.
* We don't attend the world's funerals.
* We don't attend the world's weddings.
* Children are to be homeschooled not attend public school.
* We are frugal and wisely use resources God has give us.
* We don't celebrate holidays (Christ-mass, Easter etc.)
* We are not a prisonor to debt.
* We run our own business and are not captive by a slave master (boss)
* We are not political.
* We are not drawn to the news / cultural customs or fads.
This is not an exclusive list (just a summary) and there will be more as we grow and mature in Christ.
